I’m at the coast and (obviously) I’ve been checking out what all the boats are named! Ships are usually considered female so most have girls names, but I’ve also spotted some exceptions. In no particular order:
Katjuscha
[name_f]Honey[/name_f] Pie
Lucja
[name_m]Sirius[/name_m]
Asgard
Marela
Chill Out
Jeromme
Old [name_f]Lady[/name_f]
[name_f]Aura[/name_f]
[name_f]Milani[/name_f]
[name_u]Nelly[/name_u]
[name_u]Carmen[/name_u]
[name_f]Tulip[/name_f]
[name_u]Infinity[/name_u]
Bijoya
[name_m]Otto[/name_m]
Nismo (might have been Nisme, not sure)
Brise (“breeze”)
[name_f]Tina[/name_f]
[name_f]Vela[/name_f]
Puffi
Now here’s the question: What would you name your boat? I think I’d go with [name_f]Silja[/name_f].
I recently named a boat in a story I was writing The [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] and I think I would call a real boat that! Though I go back on forth on the spellings [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] vs [name_f]Amalie[/name_f].
Something hardcore like Bronte’s [name_f]Lightning[/name_f] or [name_f]Emerald[/name_f] [name_u]Storm[/name_u] or something I could imagine myself doing that
[name_f]Edit[/name_f]- just remembered that [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] literally means thunder… I’m still diggin it
Some of these are genius! Chill Out is brilliant. As much as I love a good pun, I’ve always really thought [name_u]Endellion[/name_u] sounds like a boat name, so I’d probably go for that. Maybe something like [name_u]Endellion[/name_u] [name_u]Day[/name_u].
[name_m]Moby[/name_m] [name_m]Dick[/name_m] ? i like that it would also be after Led Zeppelin’s song
could also be something like [name_u]Meridian[/name_u], [name_f]Atlanta[/name_f] or even something like Woodstock, [name_u]Zeppelin[/name_u] or Vertigo
