What would you name a brother to [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] nn [name_u]Romy[/name_u] & [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] nn [name_u]Billie[/name_u]?
So far I’ve thought of…
[name_m]Phineas[/name_m] nn [name_u]Finn[/name_u] (but I think [name_u]Billie[/name_u] & [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] is a bit much together just bc of association)
[name_m]Franklin[/name_m] nn [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] - I like [name_u]Frankie[/name_u], but not [name_m]Franklin[/name_m]
[name_u]Lennon[/name_u] (seems off in terms of style)
[name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m] (don’t like, but think it matches stylistically)
[name_m]Rufus[/name_m] (same as [name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m])
[name_u]August[/name_u] (don’t love)
[name_m]Solomon[/name_m] (don’t love and don’t like the nns)
I’m looking for upbeat, vintage, but funky, not too popular, and preferably has a cute nickname.
My favourite out of your ideas are [name_u]Lennon[/name_u] and [name_u]August[/name_u]. I like the name [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] but I would be cautious because there are some controversial race related associations with the name.
Some names that come to mind are:
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] and [name_m]Franklin[/name_m] ‘[name_u]Franky[/name_u]’ with [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]! These came to mind:
Thank you both! Still nothing is feeling quite right, although I do love some of your suggestions with [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] stylistically.
[name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] nn [name_m]Zeke[/name_m]
[name_m]Desmond[/name_m] nn [name_u]Desi[/name_u]
[name_m]Calvin[/name_m] nn [name_u]Cal[/name_u]
[name_m]Julien[/name_m]/[name_m]Julius[/name_m] nn [name_u]Jules[/name_u]
[name_m]Fitzwilliam[/name_m]/[name_m]Fitzgerald[/name_m] nn [name_m]Fitz[/name_m]
[name_m]Ignatius[/name_m] nn [name_m]Iggy[/name_m]
[name_m]Montgomery[/name_m] nn [name_m]Monty[/name_m]
[name_m]Truman[/name_m] nn [name_u]True[/name_u]
I think [name_u]August[/name_u] is a winner as you have cute nn’s for sisters and his nn could be [name_u]Gus[/name_u].
What about [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] nn [name_m]Leo[/name_m], or [name_u]Barret[/name_u] nn [name_m]Bear[/name_m]?
@prairiekeeper I agree [name_u]August[/name_u] goes really well, but I just don’t love the name, and I (personally) really don’t like the nicknames. Thank you, though!
Thank you everyone for your suggestions! Still looking, though
Does anyone get the connection between [name_u]Billie[/name_u] & [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] ([name_u]Billie[/name_u] [name_f]Eilish[/name_f] & her also famous brother, Finneas). I feel like it’d be weird since they’re so distinctive names… What do you think?
I like [name_m]Rufus[/name_m] and [name_u]August[/name_u] best from your list, but if you don’t love them then I think it’s best to look elsewhere. At first I didn’t get what you meant about [name_u]Billie[/name_u] and [name_m]Phineas[/name_m], but then it clicked. I don’t think it’d be too big of a deal since her actual name would be [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] and [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] is spelt differently, plus a lot of people probably don’t even know about [name_u]Billie[/name_u] [name_f]Eilish[/name_f]'s brother.
Some other ideas, with potential nicknames in brackets:
[name_m]Frank[/name_m] ([name_u]Frankie[/name_u])
[name_u]Francis[/name_u] ([name_u]Frankie[/name_u])
[name_m]Thomas[/name_m] ([name_m]Tom[/name_m], [name_m]Tommy[/name_m])
[name_m]Oscar[/name_m] ([name_m]Ozzy[/name_m])
[name_m]Tobias[/name_m] ([name_u]Toby[/name_u])
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] ([name_m]Nate[/name_m], Nath, [name_m]Niel[/name_m], [name_m]Niels[/name_m])
[name_m]Linus[/name_m] ([name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_m]Lenny[/name_m])
[name_m]Otto[/name_m]
[name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] ([name_m]Barney[/name_m], [name_m]Barnes[/name_m], [name_u]Bobby[/name_u], [name_m]Arno[/name_m])
[name_m]Chester[/name_m] ([name_m]Chuck[/name_m])
[name_m]Vincent[/name_m] ([name_m]Vin[/name_m], [name_u]Vinnie[/name_u], [name_m]Vince[/name_m])
Would you call [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] or something else? Because [name_u]Billie[/name_u] and [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] definitely carries the association, but [name_u]Billie[/name_u] and [name_u]Finn[/name_u], for example, not so much
@sophie Well, [name_u]Billie[/name_u] would (hypothetically) be called [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] as well as [name_u]Billie[/name_u], and [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] would be both [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] and [name_u]Finn[/name_u].
@winterdragon94 & @rhettagain I’m not sure any of those are quite what I’m looking for, but thank you anyway!
