What would you name a sister for [name_u]Arden[/name_u]?
We [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Marigold[/name_f], so I’d also really like opinions on sisters called [name_u]Arden[/name_u] and [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]. They have the same whimsical vibe to me, but I’m interested in what others think.
It’s important to me to have sibling names that ‘go’ together.
If you had free reign, what would you name a sister to [name_u]Arden[/name_u]?
To me, [name_u]Arden[/name_u] sounds like more of a stiff name than whimsical, so I don’t think [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] and [name_u]Arden[/name_u] are from the same style. They sound cute together, though.
If I had free reign, I would probably use any of these:
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Arden[/name_u], and [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]. I think they’d make a great sibset; they don’t match, they go.
One commenter on these forums once said [name_u]Arden[/name_u] sounded to them like “garden”, and what better complement to that than a flower name like [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]?
[name_u]Arden[/name_u] may have a more modern vibe than vintage, Victorian [name_f]Marigold[/name_f], but i think it works.
If you want to really match [name_u]Arden[/name_u], I would use…
[name_u]Jo[/name_u] [name_u]Jo[/name_u] – she’s named after the forest in As You Like It, so although the name’s meaning is: “high ground” we also consider it a botanical/nature name of sorts :). Thank you for the compliment.
Teenberry, I can’t do any ‘lyn’ names; just not my style. We like classic/literary names. [name_f]Stella[/name_f] is gorgeous and one of our favourites but really popular around here.
I think [name_u]Arden[/name_u] and [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] are adorable together! I don’t think they’re a perfect match–[name_u]Arden[/name_u] is unisex, I believe, while [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] isn’t, but they go so well together anyway, and I can totally see [name_u]Arden[/name_u] and [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] as sisters! I’m not sure I could suggest anything that goes as well. I like the suggestion of [name_u]Arden[/name_u] and [name_f]Greer[/name_f], though, and love the idea of [name_u]Arden[/name_u] with [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], but I think it’s more that I think [name_u]Arden[/name_u] [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] is a nice combo, as opposed to the idea of [name_u]Arden[/name_u] and [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] as sisters.
Ashthedreamer – We love [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], but ruled it out due to its popularity. For quite some time, [name_f]Olive[/name_f] was our favourite.
[name_u]Arden[/name_u] & [name_f]Olive[/name_f] is aesthetically quite pleasing to me :).
I agree with all of this. [name_u]Arden[/name_u] and [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] would work delightfully as sisters–I adore [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]! Also love @jo jo’s suggestion of [name_f]Greer[/name_f] with [name_u]Arden[/name_u].
But here are a few more suggestions ayway:
[name_u]Arden[/name_u] and…
[name_f]Briar[/name_f]
[name_f]Calla[/name_f]
[name_f]Coral[/name_f]
[name_f]Delta[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Greta[/name_f]
[name_f]Lyla[/name_f]
[name_u]Piper[/name_u]
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Verity[/name_f]
[name_u]Love[/name_u] the suggestion of [name_f]Greer[/name_f]! Usually with [name_u]Arden[/name_u] I think of gender neutral, sleek, familiar but not to common names. I loved reading about how you chose [name_u]Arden[/name_u] though so I tried to choose a few names that have a nod toward nature but still match [name_u]Arden[/name_u]'s modern sound.
