If you see in my signature, I have a lot of “favorites” for boys, but to be perfectly honest, most of them I just like more than love. I feel like I’ve scoured all the names in existence and these are the ones I like best, but none of them really feel like they could potentially be “the one.” I’d say the “top 5” would be…
What would YOU name [name_f]Nora[/name_f]'s brother? It doesn’t have to be from my list of names; in fact, if something else popped into your head, by all means share it!
FYI: Middle name would either be [name_u]James[/name_u] or [name_u]Jameson[/name_u] to honor family. Last name starts with “[name_f]El[/name_f]” and ends with a ‘T’ so as much as I love names like [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] or [name_u]Everett[/name_u], they sound absurd with our last name.
I like [name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]! Such a sturdy, handsome combo, and it goes wonderfully with [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Cathleen[/name_f]. I also adore [name_m]Miles[/name_m] and [name_u]Dean[/name_u], but I don’t think they flow quite as well with [name_u]James[/name_u]/[name_u]Jameson[/name_u].
I love [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Cathleen[/name_f]. I find [name_f]Cathleen[/name_f] to be so underused. All of your names are really fantastic with [name_f]Nora[/name_f]. I like [name_u]James[/name_u] as a first name best with [name_f]Nora[/name_f]. It just has the same feel to me. I also like [name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u], [name_m]John[/name_m], and [name_u]Finn[/name_u]. Well, basically, I just relisted your names. Sorry I can’t be more helpful. My vote is [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Declan[/name_m].
I would definitely go with an Irish name. From your list, my favorites are [name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_u]Jameson[/name_u].
I actually love [name_u]James[/name_u] as a first name, but it’s my husband’s name, his grandfather’s name, my uncle’s name, and two of my cousins’ names. None of them actually go by [name_u]James[/name_u] (either [name_m]Jim[/name_m], [name_m]Jimmy[/name_m] or J.R.), but my husband HATES [name_u]James[/name_u] and said he’d end up calling him [name_m]Jim[/name_m] or [name_m]Jimmy[/name_m]. Not only am I not a big fan of [name_m]Jim[/name_m] or [name_m]Jimmy[/name_m], it’d just be way too much (and confusing) in our family! I figure at least if I use it as a middle name, it’ll maintain itself and not be shortened to [name_m]Jim[/name_m]!
I feel like you should go with something Irish-ish with your daughter’s name, which is lovely by the way. [name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] sounds best of your top 5 to me.
