So I’m in the same pickle I was in with [name]Camilla[/name] a few days ago - I love this name but I can’t tell what style it is persay. To help me figure it out could you suggest names that would go well with it ([name]Calista[/name] nn [name]Callie[/name]) in a sibset? Would it be weird to have names that aren’t Greek/mythological? Would any of the names in my signature go well with it?
[name]Calista[/name] and [name]Claudia[/name] I could see together (though potentially too matchey for some). [name]Calista[/name] and [name]Audrey[/name] I could see working too. The others…not so much.
Other names you might like:
[name]Althea[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name]
[name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Xanthe[/name]
[name]Cynthia[/name]
[name]Calliope[/name]
[name]Iris[/name]
[name]Cassandra[/name]
[name]Phaedra[/name]
[name]Ariadne[/name]
[name]Thisbe[/name]
I find all of these lovely, and usable, which is to me just as important.
[name]Callie[/name], [name]Iris[/name] and [name]Thea[/name] my dream daughters
Thanks, love all the suggestions!
I really think [name]Calista[/name] and [name]Camilla[/name], [name]Calliope[/name], or [name]Calypso[/name] are too close, as they all have the [name]Ca[/name]- beginning and [name]Calista[/name] goes by [name]Callie[/name]. Also, I don’t know how you’d like accidentally going into a C theme. If you liked that, I’d recommend [name]Cynthia[/name] or [name]Claudia[/name] with [name]Calista[/name]. I do think the similar sounds with [name]Claudia[/name] could become problematic, though. I love [name]Althea[/name], but the [name]Al[/name] sound could also cause trouble, as [name]Calista[/name] is also [name]Callie[/name]. The common nickname for [name]Althea[/name] would also be [name]Allie[/name]. [name]Callie[/name] and [name]Allie[/name] anyone?
I actually like using names that come from ancient or mythological roots, especially ones that give girls a sense of “girl power”. Other than those potential problems above, I think you have a wide variety of names that would go lovely with [name]Calista[/name]. I really think, of the ones suggested, [name]Daphne[/name] and [name]Calista[/name] is ridiculously dashing.
