[name_m]Hi[/name_m] berries, I have a sweet little El0ise and just starting to play around with nn’s. She will mostly go by her full name but I want to try and avoid [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]/[name_f]Ella[/name_f]. Plus one of the reasons I picked this name is because of the great nn potential
Here are the one’s I like. I’m open to using all of them but might want to narrow it down, just a little.
Lo, [name_f]Lola[/name_f], [name_f]Lolo[/name_f], Lowie, and [name_f]Elle[/name_f]
are there any you would take out? Or should I leave them all? Thanks!
I immediately thought of [name_f]LuLu[/name_f] Might just be my pronunciation… All of those NNs are precious in my opinion! I think Lo and [name_f]Lolo[/name_f] are very nice. have fun!
I thought a silly nn could be Weezy. My sibs and I all had at least one silly nn that was used within the family. Some of them obviously made sense ([name_m]Dan[/name_m] the [name_m]Man[/name_m] for [name_m]Daniel[/name_m]), while others had a long story to go with them that only made sense within the family.
[name_u]Elie[/name_u], [name_f]Elle[/name_f], [name_u]Lou[/name_u], Lo, [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Lulu[/name_f]… but [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] is such a pretty name on its own!
Thanks girls! It’s funny, originally I thought I might use lulu but it doesn’t seem to fit. Especially with how I pronounce her name. It is very cute though. [name_f]Glad[/name_f] you girls like Lo, I think it’s sweet and just a little bit different. I like the suggestion of [name_f]Elle[/name_f] and Lo…with [name_f]Lolo[/name_f] for fun! Might take out Lowie…people might think I’m saying [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]. Also might take out [name_f]Lola[/name_f], I think it’s adorable but also not sure if it fits either
I’d say to use a handful of different ones until one sticks. My daughter gave herself her nn. We intentionally picked a name that really couldn’t be shortened, and she made up her own nick name anyway.
Good idea, I’ll use a handful of them for now…namely “[name_f]Elle[/name_f] and Lo”…I think??
*I was worried that [name_f]Elle[/name_f] might become [name_f]Ella[/name_f] or [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] a little bit too easily? But I just love it. What do u guys think?
Simple and chic…a little black dress of names. I never hear just “[name_f]Elle[/name_f]” which is nice too! Lo is adorable as well, very different, and sweet :). But of course I’ll use her full name a lot. I love it
[name_f]Love[/name_f] that name so much it only leaves my list (and always temporarily!) because the last name my kids would have starts with an S, which makes the two run into each other a bit. Other than that I adore the name! I personally think weezie is a fun and quirky-cool nickname though I’d probably use [name_f]Elle[/name_f] or Elo most frequently.
Oh man, I don’t like wheezy! Haha. Especially since asthma runs in the family. Definitely wanna stay away from that. Hmmm maybe [name_f]Elle[/name_f] and Lo? Seems most of you like those
[name_f]One[/name_f] of my cats is [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], and I tend to call her Elo, like ‘Hello’ without the H. My grandmother is [name_f]Lois[/name_f], and my grandfather’s petname for her has always been Lolobelle, which I love. My favorite of your list is Lo, definitely.
My great aunt [name_f]Linda[/name_f]'s middle name is [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] and she has always been Aunt Weezie to us. My uncle always called her Weez. I always thought it was a very cute & cool nn.
I would end up calling her [name_f]Louise[/name_f], personally, I would call her [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] most of the time, but if I was just speaking to her casually, I am sure that my voice would slip and call her [name_f]Louise[/name_f]. I like Lo and Elo, though, those are cute. (:
I definitely agree with either [name_f]Elle[/name_f] or Lo. [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] and [name_f]Ella[/name_f] are way too overused. [name_f]Elle[/name_f] is sophisticated yet sweet (could be used as a nickname for when she’s an adult) and Lo is unexpected and a little spunky yet still very cute.
Amazing feedback! So glad you guys like [name_f]Elle[/name_f]. I agree, sweet and sophisticated while Lo (also glad this gets great feedback!) is unexpected and spunky. I’ve been afraid to use a nn because I love her full name so very much but…her awesome nn’s is one of the big reasons I went with this name. So I think I’m gonna go for it and probably do [name_f]Elle[/name_f] and Lo I think? [name_f]Lola[/name_f] feels like I’m changing her name. Hmmmm.
And going with the nn [name_f]Elle[/name_f] (and Lo) …would you guys be worries about [name_f]Elle[/name_f] turning into [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] or [name_f]Ella[/name_f]? That’s my ONLY concern with this one. Nobody seems to nickname her so as of now, I have free reign over it ;). Want to establish these two I think to avoid the one’s I don’t like once she starts nursery in a few years. Ok thanks again!
I adore the name [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] my favourite nicknames are [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] and [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]. I probably wouldn’t use [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] as my mum gets called [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] sometimes
