What’s a name that most people or a lot of people would consider to be guilty pleasure that you would actually use?
I would use [name_f]Eudora[/name_f], [name_f]Primrose[/name_f], [name_f]Pollyanna[/name_f], [name_m]Hawthorne[/name_m] and Schroeder.
What about you guys? What guilty pleasure names could you see yourself using?
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] & [name_u]Vida[/name_u]. I’m Brazilian and in Portuguese, they mean Soul and Life, respectively, and people always say things like “minha vida é horrível”, “my life is horrible” in Portuguese. But, living in a English speaking country, I think it’s not such a big deal… or it is?
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]ALMA[/name_f] WITH ALL MY HEART! But I just… I don’t know, it’s a guilty pleasure for me.
I go back and forth over [name_f]October[/name_f], [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] and [name_u]Halcyon[/name_u] because I love them so much but I worry that they’re a bit too gp. If they become my favourites though I think I can deff see myself using them. I also love [name_u]Hero[/name_u] on a girl and [name_u]Day[/name_u] on a boy, and I might end up using them as middles.
Naming a real child (I’ve only named characters/animals/random inanimate objects) would narrow my list dramatically, but I’d still use Solace.
Probably my real kids’ names. Senia, [name_f]Apolline[/name_f], Theoden and Hesperia.
Senia has the most ‘tame’ out of them all, we definitely gained more confidence with every child, lol. Hesperia was one that we went back and forth on SO much because it is so long and unusual, but when she was born I couldn’t imagine her being anything else. I say to people just to go for it. If they love the name and it works for their family, then use it (unless it’s offensive or something). People are shocked when they first meet our children but after a while they admit they don’t think twice about them anymore.
I also like [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] nn Prim and [name_m]Hawthorne[/name_m] (as a middle) and would use those. I’d love to use [name_f]Prudence[/name_f] if it went with my last name.
[name_u]Dove[/name_u]. Oh, we’d use it as a middle name, but still. I know not many others will like it and will label it as out-there. Oh well 
I think I’d use quite a lot of mine as middle names - [name_m]Quest[/name_m], Kestrel, [name_f]Solstice[/name_f], [name_f]Cascade[/name_f], [name_f]Sonnet[/name_f], [name_u]Frost[/name_u], Antimony.
As first names? Maybe [name_f]Posy[/name_f], [name_f]Sahara[/name_f] and [name_m]Hawk[/name_m]. I’d be most likely to use [name_f]Posy[/name_f] than any of the others.
Well i used [name_m]Rudolf[/name_m]. My girl list is currently [name_f]Ouida[/name_f], [name_f]Thelma[/name_f], [name_f]Polly[/name_f] and [name_f]Lois[/name_f]. Boys I am really liking [name_m]Chester[/name_m]. So I think my style is different than most…but
I also love [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and probably use as a middle name
The other is [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m]. Its my husband’s name and I really like it. I chickened out with my son due to [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] Putin, but after seeing how other mom’s on name [name_u]Berry[/name_u] deal with people who dislike their choice I am a bit more confident
[name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] for me. It’s a GP because it’s quite different and it has the whole Lotr connection. I’ve tried to come up with alternatives that are similar without the nerdy vibe like [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and Lowenna, but for various reasons none of them have stuck. My husband and I just keep coming back to [name_f]Eowyn[/name_f]. We love the soft, grounded sound (I like that it’s a breathy name that is hard to shout). We also do incidentally both love the literary character for being strong and brave as well as kind and gentle. We also love the very cute and usable nicknames of [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] and [name_f]Wynnie[/name_f]. So, we may certainly get funny looks if we used it but it’s been years now and [name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] is still top of our list so I think it’s likely she will stick around until/if we are ever blessed with a daughter.
My guilty pleasures fall into two categories: names I wouldn’t saddle a real child with, and names my husband will never approve of. But I just can’t take them off my list!

My guilty pleasure names are probably [name_f]Esme[/name_f], [name_f]Effie[/name_f], [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] and [name_f]Edie[/name_f] which now i can understand my obsession with e names! I also love [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] which I would definitely use. For boys I love [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] and [name_u]Remi[/name_u] which I would also use. I love place names like [name_u]Cairo[/name_u], [name_u]Kyoto[/name_u] and [name_u]Memphis[/name_u] which I would be scared to use but definitely for middle names!
I think I could use [name_m]Zohar[/name_m] on a boy, if SO agreed. Other names for boys I consider guilty pleasures but might still use are [name_u]Kit[/name_u], [name_m]Moss[/name_m] and [name_u]Zelig[/name_u].
For girls, I might still use [name_f]Kitty[/name_f] and Gisse.
I have a separate list of guilty pleasure names, but quite a few GPs of mine made their way onto my full list, and S/O likes at least a few of them.
