I said meaning was important but I think honoring someone is important too. And the general flow of the name with the last name. Those are the three most important criteria for me.

  1. meaning
  2. honor
  3. flow

I put masculinity because…well, I’m honestly pretty big on there being “boy names” and “girl names”. So when I choose a name for a son, I want it to definitely say “I’m a boy”. Then I’d have to say handsome, followed by unpopular, although I try not to get too held up on popularity to an extent. The other things don’t really matter to me.

Most important to me is having a boy’s name that is handsome and striking. A handsome name also ties into masculinity and standing out.
