[name]Louisa[/name]: i like this, not love it. I’d consider it, but doesn’t quite have the zing the others do.
[name]Susannah[/name]: like it more than [name]Louisa[/name], but still lacking in zing. [name]Love[/name] the [name]Susie[/name] nickname, though.
[name]Cordelia[/name]: dislike because of [name]Buffy[/name]/[name]Angel[/name] character association
[name]Georgiana[/name]: like but don’t love. Very old, less spunky than the others, and i dislike boy names on girls so [name]Georgie[/name] wouldn’t work as a nickname.
[name]Nathaniel[/name]: bad association, i knew a jerk of a [name]Nathaniel[/name] once.
[name]Iwan[/name]: interesting, definitely one i haven’t heard before. At first glance i prefer [name]Ewan[/name], but I’m definitely adding it to consideration.
[name]Alistair[/name]: all i think of is this scene in the TV show The IT Crowd when [name]Roy[/name] keeps shouting “[name]Alistair[/name], I’m not a window-cleaner!!” lol. It seems like the right direction but the wrong name for me if that makes sense?
[name]Evander[/name]: i don’t really care for this at all, but i can’t put my finger on why. I think it reminds me of [name]Lavender[/name].
I’m pretty bad at pin=pointing styles, but i’d say maybe old-fashioned, underused classics with spunk? That’s the vibe I get haha
That actually sounds about right!
[name]Adelaide[/name]: i like it, don’t love it. It also lacks the wow factor of my other girl names (to me), and i dislike “[name]Addie[/name]/[name]Addy[/name]” as nicknames
[name]Evangeline[/name]: i like this a lot, and am adding it to my consideration list.
[name]Tabitha[/name]: i have a really granola friend named this, which isn’t a bad association, but sort of makes me feel like [name]Tabitha[/name] is more of a hippie name than I’m going for
[name]Dorothea[/name]: not really my style, also a family name
[name]Frances[/name]: i like it more for a middle name and it feels too close to [name]Florence[/name]
[name]Josephine[/name]: i love [name]Jo[/name] [name]March[/name], but can’t stand the name [name]Josephine[/name] i feel like a bad '[name]Berry[/name] for not loving it!
[name]Penelope[/name]: very pretty, but a touch too popular for me. Also I’ve seen the movie [name]Penelope[/name] several times so i associate it with the movie.
[name]Muriel[/name]: nms and a neighbor’s name
[name]Adelia[/name]: pretty, but feels more like a middle
[name]Beatrix[/name]: not my style. I dislike the letter x. I dislike the [name]Beatrix[/name]/[name]Beatrice[/name] trend as well
[name]June[/name]: feels like a middle, and too short compared to my other names.
[name]Louisa[/name]: i like it but am undecided. It could work as a middle.
[name]Helen[/name]/[name]Helena[/name]: I’m putting [name]Helena[/name] on my consideration list. I like the sound of it, and I have a positive association, I’m just not 100% sure how I like the fit with the other girl names
[name]Gregory[/name]: Not bad, a little more popular than I prefer, but a good, solid name
[name]Sebastian[/name]: not my style, also a cousin’s name, seems slightly pretentious to me
[name]Jasper[/name]: I just think of the jerky guy named [name]Jasper[/name] from the film The [name]Holiday[/name]
[name]Hugo[/name]: I actually really like this a lot! Adding it to the list
[name]Calvin[/name]: I like this, but used to nanny for a kid named [name]Calvin[/name] and I don’t want anyone to think it’s after him, you know?
[name]Theodore[/name]: I halfway like it but also keep thinking of [name]Theodore[/name] from [name]Alvin[/name] & the Chipmunks
[name]Vincent[/name]: I associate [name]Vincent[/name] with jerks,
[name]Oliver[/name]: Too popular and I dislike the sound
[name]Edmund[/name]: [name]LOVE[/name] this name, [name]LOVE[/name] the Pevensie and [name]Bertram[/name] association!
[name]Graham[/name]: I don’t dislike it but I don’t love it
[name]Jeffrey[/name]: Name of a family member
[name]Elliot[/name]: I like it, especially for the [name]Anne[/name] [name]Elliot[/name] connection, adding it to consideration
[name]Cyrus[/name]/[name]Cyril[/name]: [name]Cyrus[/name] reminds me of [name]Miley[/name] [name]Cyrus[/name]. I like [name]Cyril[/name], but it sounds like “cereal” to my ears. I suppose the pronunciation sigh-ril is an option, but I don’t quite love it.
[name]Lucian[/name]: reminds me of [name]Lucius[/name]…as in Malfoy. Haha it just sounds slightly evil to me.
[name]Benedict[/name]: I like it, but is it too tied to Benedict Cumberbatch? Would it be too fangirly? I do love him.
I’m sorry I’m so picky! I have all these weird associations with names, probably from being a name nerd for so long and remembering everyone’s names. Some very good suggestions here, and I do think sarahdoodle hit it on the head with the “old-fashioned underused classics with spunk” style!
