[name_m]Will[/name_m] try to keep this as short as possible.
Very recently found out we are expecting #2.
We have our girl name sorted [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] [name_f]Adeline[/name_f].
We have a little boy [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] (he was always going to be [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] we had the name for years before we had him- there was no back up).
We absolutely love his name.
We just can’t find another boy name we think feels right.
Middle name most likely [name_m]Atticus[/name_m].
I don’t even know if it is a boy yet- however the stress of not having a name is weighing on me. I am a planner/prepared person.
I love that some people can wait until the baby is born to name it but it’s just not us.
I have all these rules for a name that it is overtaking the search.
I am actually becoming stressed, a good friend is 21 weeks pregnant with a boy and has no name. I keep telling her one will come but I am not so sure now I am in the same boat.
What if I feel like we can’t find ‘THE’ name?
Any shared experiences appreciated.
Any name suggestions also welcomed.
I think [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] is name perfection! I far prefer [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] in a boy. I can absolutely picture [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] and [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] brothers. As for worrying, don’t. At least relax until you know the gender.
I definitely wouldn’t stress about a name before you find out the gender. I love @boyandgirl’s suggestion of [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] [name_m]Atticus[/name_m]. It’s fantastic!
I also like [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] for a boy. [name_u]Quincy[/name_u] and [name_m]Quinton[/name_m] are also great names.
Thanks for the input- I guess because last time we went into the gender scan having both names boy/girl locked in I felt it had to be the same again.
Not everyones style I know but we love unisex names/boy names for girls. So unfortunately [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] is all girl for us, I couldn’t bring myself to use it on a boy. I feel the same for [name_u]Blake[/name_u] as well- which is why it’s no longer a contender.
I would wait until you find out the sex. If the baby’s a girl, no worries! If the baby’s a boy, I would sit down with your SO and determine which of your rules are must haves and which are merely preferences. We’ll always be here to help when and if the time comes.
I say you DEFINITELY have time, and there’s no need to worry, but I know that is easier said than done and I completely relate to the feeling of wanting to know your child’s name as soon as possible.
I was also going to suggest a [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] name for your boy–do you feel that way even about the (non-unisex) options [name_u]Quincy[/name_u] and [name_m]Quintin[/name_m], too? But maybe if you plan on having a third some day, you might also want to keep [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] open for a future daughter…
So, just looking at your signature I see two great possibilities ([name_u]Blake[/name_u] could work too but I see it’s no longer a contender)! I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_u]Kai[/name_u], and I think [name_u]Kai[/name_u] and [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] go well together (both were on my list at least ). I also see [name_m]Cohen[/name_m], which I would strongly encourage you to spell Cowan for cultural reasons ([name_m]Cohen[/name_m] being a Jewish religious title/inherited name), but I think would also be a great brother to [name_m]Lucas[/name_m].
[name_m]Lucas[/name_m] and [name_u]Kai[/name_u]
[name_m]Lucas[/name_m] and Cowan
Other ideas:
[name_m]Cohen[/name_m]/Cowan --> [name_m]Ronan[/name_m], [name_u]Corin[/name_u], [name_m]Callum[/name_m], [name_m]Roman[/name_m], [name_u]Owen[/name_u]
[name_u]Kai[/name_u] --> [name_m]Ike[/name_m] ([name_m]Isaac[/name_m]), [name_u]Max[/name_u], [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_u]Finn[/name_u]
[name_u]Blake[/name_u] --> [name_m]Jake[/name_m] ([name_m]Jacob[/name_m]), [name_m]Ben[/name_m] ([name_m]Benjamin[/name_m], [name_m]Bennett[/name_m], [name_m]Benedict[/name_m]), [name_u]Reed[/name_u], [name_u]Rhys[/name_u], [name_u]Flynn[/name_u]
