Does this happen to anyone else?
I don’t even usually like when twins have the same beginning letter but I’ve found myself liking names that begin with A for some reason haha! :lol: [name\_f]Alice[/name\_f] and [name\_f]Audrey[/name\_f] for girls and all of a sudden I’m in [name\_u]LOVE[/name\_u] with [name\_u]Arlo[/name\_u] for a boy! I have no children so the chances of these remaining my favourites and me having 2 girls and 1 boy are slim but would that be ridiculous to have three children named that or is that not so weird?

Thanks! 🙂

For boys we’ve found there are only a few letters we like for first names S&L and we have a list that are our favorite names and then realized that they are all a or l names on the boy list and we are just going to run with it and see how it plays out

Oh yes, it’s so aggravating! [name\_u]Jude[/name\_u], [name\_m]Joachim[/name\_m], [name\_m]Julien[/name\_m], and [name\_f]Juliet[/name\_f]; [name\_f]Catalina[/name\_f], [name\_m]Charles[/name\_m], and [name\_f]Caia[/name\_f]; [name\_m]Damian[/name\_m], and [name\_m]Dominic[/name\_m]; [name\_m]Marius[/name\_m], and [name\_f]Madeleine[/name\_f]. I am forced to use only two of each, but it all works out. I am also in love with the name [name\_u]Arlo[/name\_u], but it’s just a bit too nickname-y so I decided I would give it a full name… [name\_m]Charles[/name\_m]! That may help solve part of your dilemma, at least : )

I’m all about the A names too. Trying to expand these days but I always come back to the As.

Mine tend to sound the same as well. [name\_f]Matilda[/name\_f] and [name\_m]Matthew[/name\_m], [name\_m]Marcus[/name\_m] and [name\_f]Margot[/name\_f], [name\_f]Maeve[/name\_f] and [name\_u]Madigan[/name\_u] and [name\_m]Malachi[/name\_m]. [name\_f]Edith[/name\_f] and [name\_u]Evelyn[/name\_u] and [name\_m]Edmund[/name\_m]. [name\_u]Seth[/name\_u] and [name\_m]Stefan[/name\_m] and [name\_f]Sylvie[/name\_f]. ‘Ma…’ names seem to be my favourite!

This happens to me, a lot. Many of my favorite names start with C. [name\_u]Charlie[/name\_u], [name\_m]Caleb[/name\_m], [name\_u]Casey[/name\_u], [name\_m]Cormac[/name\_m], [name\_m]Conall[/name\_m], [name\_m]Connor[/name\_m], [name\_f]Caroline[/name\_f], etc. I would never give all my children names with the same first initial, because I think that’s tacky and contrived. I think a good rule is, no more than two with the same first initial if there are three or more children and if those names don’t sound alike.

</div>

Haha glad it’s not just me! It seems when you like a name for it’s sound it’s no wonder we are attracted to other similar sounding names! And yeah I think three with the same first letter would be a bit much as addie88 says, two is fine but three is odd! 😉

For months I have been searching for new favourites that don’t begin with E, but keep finding more E favourites!

When it comes to naming a family I won’t be as concerned-hopefully-if they have different beginning sounds (our top names are [name\_m]Eamon[/name\_m] and [name\_f]Eliza[/name\_f]).

Also on the list:
[name\_u]Emmett[/name\_u], [name\_m]Ewan[/name\_m] and [name\_m]Edward[/name\_m]
[name\_f]Esther[/name\_f], [name\_f]Elena[/name\_f], [name\_f]Elodie[/name\_f], [name\_f]Elsie[/name\_f], [name\_f]Emmeline[/name\_f] and [name\_f]Estelle/name\_f!

I love a lot of A names. 🙂 I think for a while in the 90s “K” names were popular here in the U.S. I read something about that recently. Anyway, my extended family gave birth to [name\_f]Kaitlin[/name\_f] & [name\_f]Kirsten[/name\_f], [name\_f]Kiara[/name\_f] & [name\_f]Kyla[/name\_f], [name\_u]Kieran[/name\_u] & [name\_u]Kyle[/name\_u], [name\_f]Kimi[/name\_f] & [name\_m]Kenneth[/name\_m], all cousins in the same generation.

</div>

You’re not alone! Most of my favourite names begin with A- [name\_u]August[/name\_u], [name\_m]Arthur[/name\_m], [name\_m]Alec[/name\_m], [name\_u]Asa[/name\_u], [name\_m]Archer[/name\_m], [name\_u]Alfie[/name\_u], [name\_f]Amelia[/name\_f]… I also love F names- [name\_u]Finn[/name\_u], [name\_m]Felix[/name\_m], [name\_f]Florence[/name\_f] and E names- [name\_m]Emrys[/name\_m], [name\_u]Emmett[/name\_u], [name\_m]Ethan[/name\_m], [name\_m]Edmund[/name\_m], [name\_f]Emilia[/name\_f], [name\_f]Emmeline[/name\_f].
I would try to only use 2 names starting with the same letter to prevent the letter from looking like a theme. There are very few girls’ names that I love, so I would use my favourites even if it meant having names starting with the same letter.

I have a thing for A’s, C’s, E’s, J’s, L’s, R’s and S’s. But that’s for my list in general. On my short list, I have a lot of A’s and E’s, most prominently ([name\_u]Elliot[/name\_u], [name\_f]Evangeline[/name\_f], [name\_u]Emmett[/name\_u], [name\_f]Elowen[/name\_f], Eddard/[name\_m]Edmund[/name\_m] and [name\_f]Alice[/name\_f], [name\_f]Annie[/name\_f], [name\_f]Arielle[/name\_f], [name\_f]Astrid[/name\_f], [name\_f]Arwen[/name\_f] and [name\_m]Augustus[/name\_m]).

Yes! And I hate hate hate it! I don’t want it or ask for it but it happens. Alot of my names, all S’s… and as it is, my child has a double S name. For girls and boys, I just love S.

All of my favorite names are very similar…almost too similar! I love ‘A’ names, including [name\_f]Aria[/name\_f], [name\_f]Anna[/name\_f] and [name\_f]Ava[/name\_f] for girls and [name\_u]Aiden[/name\_u], [name\_m]Adam[/name\_m] and [name\_m]Aaron[/name\_m] for boys. I also love ‘E’ names, including [name\_f]Eve[/name\_f], [name\_f]Esme[/name\_f] and [name\_f]Elinor[/name\_f] for girls and [name\_m]Eric[/name\_m], [name\_u]Evan[/name\_u] and [name\_m]Ethan[/name\_m] for boys. [name\_f]Lydia[/name\_f], [name\_f]Lily[/name\_f] and [name\_f]Lucy[/name\_f] and [name\_u]Theo[/name\_u] and [name\_m]Leo[/name\_m] are favorites, too, but they’re too similar.

I too have the same problem and it’s very annoying. I like lots of girl names that begin with I, such as [name\_f]Imogen[/name\_f], [name\_f]Ivy[/name\_f], [name\_f]Iris[/name\_f], [name\_f]Iona[/name\_f] etc. I also like boys name that begins with A, which seems like a popular letter. I like [name\_m]Alistair[/name\_m], [name\_m]Arthur[/name\_m], [name\_u]August[/name\_u] etc. I also love the F sound, like [name\_m]Felix[/name\_m], [name\_f]Freya[/name\_f], [name\_m]Phineas[/name\_m], [name\_f]Phoebe[/name\_f]. I wouldn’t have more than two of my kids with the same letter, and I wouldn’t want them to be next to each other.

I found a lot of names I like start with R or involve the letter S (most cases R and S), which makes no sense to me since I have a form of synesthesia and usually find S and R’s very ugly and unwanted. I really can’t stand SH yet there is one name exception that I do think I could use regardless of my distaste.

The two prettiest letters I’m always drawn to are E and J, both shimmery green and silvery letters and names that I find the most appealing. I tend to love Vowel filled names and perhaps the names with R and S also have strong Vowels that make it work?
