[name]Hi[/name] berries, I posted once before with a list and guess what?? DH vetoed ALL!! Its becoming hectic, I’m due in 4 weeks and on top of every other task I need to complete, my baby girl needs a name. I’ve run out of ideas, my DH vetoes EVERYTHING but offers no suggestions, I don’t know what direction to go in. I absolutely love the ideas, creativity and combos I see on here! I would love to see what you can come up with for me. open to all suggestions!
First name is [name]EVA[/name].
I’m open to single or double middle name.
I like elegant, sophisticated but not too weird.
DH likes originality but not too out there.
[name]Ocean[/name]/water/beach/nature/flower names I love them!
I don’t know what was on your list before, but here are some ideas!
[name]Eva[/name] [name]Cecile[/name]
[name]Eva[/name] [name]Flor[/name] - the Spanish word for flower, was in the movie Spanglish
[name]Eva[/name] [name]Hazel[/name]
[name]Eva[/name] [name]Jessamyn[/name] - similar to [name]Jasmine[/name] but a little more interesting
[name]Eva[/name] [name]Marin[/name] - pronounced like [name]Corinne[/name], an oceanside county in [name]California[/name]
[name]Eva[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Eva[/name] [name]Sable[/name] - the French word for sand
[name]Eva[/name] [name]Selene[/name]
[name]Love[/name] the name [name]Eva[/name] and thinks this will go with many many middles. In some ways they can be as hard to choose as the first but at least you can argue they won’t be used all the time, or hardly ever anyway, (something my dh said just last night, a nice moment of logic! if you find your dh doesn’t completely completely love it? Lets hope you can find one he does love though
I like
[name]Eva[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] - sounds quite regal but there is the double v sound…hm
[name]Eva[/name] [name]Chiara[/name] (kee-ah-rah)
[name]Eva[/name] [name]Fenella[/name]
[name]Eva[/name] [name]Sophia[/name]
[name]Eva[/name] [name]Mae[/name]
[name]Eva[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name]
[name]Eva[/name] [name]Harriet[/name] - ooo that sounds lovely
[name]Eva[/name] [name]Madeleine[/name]
[name]Eva[/name] [name]Corinne[/name]
[name]Eva[/name] [name]Faye[/name]
[name]Eva[/name] [name]Romana[/name]
[name]Eva[/name] [name]Rebecca[/name]
[name]Eva[/name] Saphina/Saffia
[name]Eva[/name] [name]Tabitha[/name]
[name]Eva[/name] [name]Merie[/name]
Suggestions where kind of everywhere, I tried to give you a lot of nature/ocean/water related names, some of the others I thought just flowed well and sounded nice with [name]Eva[/name]. I also like two middle names, something like [name]Eva[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Snow[/name] or [name]Eva[/name] [name]Lavender[/name] [name]Blythe[/name] would be pretty. [name]Hope[/name] I helped!
I’m not great at suggesting lists of names, but when my DH was in a phase of nixing every name I came up with I went on Nameberry and read this suggestion, which worked great for us: come up with your list of names and then tell him that if he wants to take one off the list he has to come up with a better one that you both agree on. I was nice about it but I just said, you know, you need to be a little more proactive instead of just exercising your veto. He ended up really enjoying the process after that and it got him to take a little more ownership of the list instead of just critiquing.
Of course, every couple is different so I totally understand that this may not work for everybody but just thought I’d throw it out there in case it might help you.
I agree with this commenter. I do not like it when people veto [name]EVERY[/name] name without suggesting something I remotely liked. This only happened to me and my husband for our first child together. After that we have a better understanding, and when things aren’t working out we start our list over. I come up with names I think he’d like (they’d also be names that I also really liked so it didn’t feel like I was settling) but I’m also proactive in telling him if I have my heart set on something( this is never a name he hates, but it may not be his most loved is all). We usually find a great name that we both love that way. But don’t bend over backwards for 9 months without having him do his fair share! Good luck!!!
