I think Ailee, Ailey, and Ailie work best. I prefer Ailee.
I pronounce -ai- as “eye” unless it’s a word or name I’m familiar with that I know is pronounced “ae”. Despite living in [name_u]America[/name_u], I am Finnish and so that’s my inclination. I have those syllables in one of my names and it’s pronounced “eye”. It probably depends on where you live and what languages you speak. [name_f]Aili[/name_f] really makes me want to say “eye-lee” lol
I do think that most Americans/Brits/Aussies would have the easiest time pronouncing Ailey or Ailee correctly to rhyme with “[name_f]Hailey[/name_f]”.
Someone else recommended Aylee and I think that’s actually the most natural way to get the right pronunciation.
[name_f]Aly[/name_f] and [name_f]Aley[/name_f] are just “alley” to me.
I’ll be honest, I read that as ‘Eye-lee’.
I like Aylee or Aylie. I know someone named Ailie pronounced like eye-lee so I wouldn’t use that spelling.
Sorry that wasn’t supposed to be a reply at someone but I don’t know how to change that
So I love this name (Irish spelling [name_f]Eilidh[/name_f] but its pretty diificult for [name_f]English[/name_f] speakers spelled that way though I love it). I would go with Aylee or Ailee to get the right pronunciation (rather than [name_f]Ally[/name_f]/Alley)
