[name_f]Anais[/name_f]. She is elegant, mysterious, rare and beautiful, that’s why. [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] leans more towards exotic, bright and happy… But judging by your love of [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Allan[/name_m] [name_u]Poe[/name_u] I feel like [name_f]Anais[/name_f] is perhaps more you.
I prefer [name_f]Saskia[/name_f], just because I fear that [name_f]Anais[/name_f] may have some unfortunate pronunciation issues.
My thoughts exactly. While it sounds lovely to the ear when said correctly, the spelling and inevitable butchered pronunciation of [name_f]Anais[/name_f] is sure to carry name regret if you’ll mostly be around English speakers.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Saskia[/name_f]!
[name_f]Saskia[/name_f] is much prettier to look at and to say in my opinion
I love both but slightly prefer [name_f]Saskia[/name_f].
[name_f]Saskia[/name_f]. I feel [name_f]Anais[/name_f] has quite an awkward pronounciation.
I like both names and written down I think [name_f]Anais[/name_f] looks pretty, but I prefer [name_f]Saskia[/name_f]. I think it’s such a pretty name which sounds fun and happy and is not very common but not unheard of, it’s also easy to spell and pronounce whereas, I fear there would be pronunciation issues with [name_f]Anais[/name_f]. My husband suggested the name to me whilst I was pregnant with baby #3 and I could never pronounce it correctly (much to his annoyance; he lived in [name_f]France[/name_f] and so said it with a beautiful french accent). We also showed the name written down to our older two children and they both said different names (they are 12 and 8). To be honest i’m sure in my head now i’m pronouncing it wrong!
I chose [name_f]Saskia[/name_f]. I have a good friend called [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] who really makes me love the name. Plus I personally struggle to say [name_f]Anais[/name_f]. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though I know how to say it, it doesn’t come naturally or sound right when I say it out loud.
I’m a little biased because [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] is one of my favorite girl names. That said, [name_f]Anais[/name_f] is also lovely. Like other posters though, I think it might face pronunciation issues. Have you considered it as a middle? [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] [name_f]Anais[/name_f] itself might not be a bad combo.
[name_f]Saskia[/name_f]. It’s so spunky and sassy! I think it’s such a beautiful, strong, feminine name and much more easily pronounced even by people who are unfamiliar with it that [name_f]Anais[/name_f].
[name_f]Saskia[/name_f] is gorgeous I picture a cultured, intelligent and artistic woman. [name_f]Anais[/name_f] is lovely too, a bit more quirky and edgy and less overtly feminine, but it doesn’t speak to me the way [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] does.
Is this for your character? If so it might make sense for her to have a clearly [name_m]French[/name_m] name like [name_f]Anais[/name_f], but if you want to emphasize her international-ness then using a name that isn’t [name_m]French[/name_m] would help with that, especially if most of the other characters have clearly [name_m]French[/name_m] names.
[name_f]Saskia[/name_f] due to the pronunciation issues [name_f]Anais[/name_f] is likely to encounter.
Thank you all so much! I appreciate all the help!
@bonfireazalea: Yeah, its for her I think i choose to name the best friend [name_f]Saskia[/name_f], it was my original choice and i think i need to keep it. [name_f]Anais[/name_f] is one of my fave french names, but i definitely can see what others say about the pronounciation issues, so iam letting it go. Iam still very confused.
