Which are your favorites and why?

Hi everyone! I’ve made some polls with some names that I’ve been thinking about recently. Some of them are favorites. I am still looking to narrow the honor names down to a handful of choices, so any constructive criticism you can give me on those would be so helpful. Others I just really like. Please help me out by voting for your favorites from each poll. Then if you could tell me why you chose the ones you did, that would be great!

Honor names:

  • Frankie Elizabeth
  • Eliza Margot
  • Audrey Maren
  • Evie Elizabeth
  • Sunday Molly
  • Eliza June
  • Molly Kate
  • Sunday Marie
  • Greta Marie
  • Evie Maren
  • Josie Elizabeth

Spunky names:

  • Sunday Katherine
  • Frankie Juliet
  • Romy Victoria
  • Piper Katherine
  • Delaney Rae

Any other suggestions you may have are welcome! Thank you so much!

There isn’t much reasoning behind my picks, I just really like [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Evie[/name_f], [name_u]Josie[/name_u], and [name_u]Piper[/name_u]. I went with [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] over [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] because I like [name_f]Margot[/name_f] slightly more and it feels more unexpected in the middle than [name_u]June[/name_u].

I voted for [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] because I like all the different sounds and vibes together (vintage, sparky, studious, playful).

What I like about [name_u]Piper[/name_u] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] is specific to how my synaesthesia colours the combo - I see it as blue and purple. :blue_heart: :purple_heart:

@sammaegre Thank you so much for this! I love all of your choices! I know [name_u]Piper[/name_u] stands out as different in style from the rest, but I just love it! I was hesitant to put [name_u]Josie[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] on here, but it easily honors three grandparents, and the fourth one if you use the nickname £llie for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. I also just love the name [name_u]Josie[/name_u]. So I think I could look past my hesitation with it! I do like [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], and I think it’s beautiful, but personally, I prefer the simplicity and spunk of [name_u]Josie[/name_u].

Thank you again!

[name_f]Evie[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] ~ she’s gorgeous such a lovely name! I’m in love with [name_f]Evie[/name_f] she’s sweet, playful and has a bright vintage flair. [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u] ~ honestly [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] is lovely such a sweet peaceful name. [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] has this nostalgic summertime imagery that’s really bright and full of happiness. [name_u]Marie[/name_u] makes a lovely happy middle name for [name_f]Sunday[/name_f]. I also love the nickname [name_u]Sunny[/name_u].

[name_u]Josie[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] ~ I love the upbeat happy feel of [name_u]Josie[/name_u] she’s just fun, has a happy vintage flair and has this sweet nostalgic 1950s feel. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] makes the perfect middle name for [name_u]Josie[/name_u]. Such a warm, cosy name.

@EdgeOfTheMeadow Thank you so much for this! I do love [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f], and it’s great because it’s a double honor. [name_u]Piper[/name_u] is so sweet and spunky, and I feel it works well with a classic middle name. I also like that you see it as blue and purple. That seems relaxing!

@tori101 Thank you so much for this! I I know that [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] stands out quite a bit from the rest of the options, but there’s something about it that brings me such joy. I haven’t been able stop thinking about naming a future daughter [name_f]Sunday[/name_f]. In a way I think it fits the others, especially [name_u]Josie[/name_u] , [name_f]Evie[/name_f], [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]. I don’t know, it just feels so special on a way that is hard to explain. I know I should probably let it go because there are so many factors to think about other than the fact that I just love it. (How names age, the opinions of loved ones professionalism, whether or not a child would be teased in school because of their name, etc.) But despite those factors, I’m not ready to give it up quite yet. I think there’s something to be said for not sharing a name until a baby is born and you have them in your arms. But I think it would also be hard for me not to want loved ones’ feedback. If I heard they didn’t like a name, (like I think most people in my life would dislike [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] uses as a name) it might be hard to use it! I know I’m probably overthinking this, as I’m nowhere close to being ready to have a child!

I LOVE [name_f]Evie[/name_f] too! I am definitely between that and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] as my favorite E names. I think both would honor my maternal grandmother well, which is my intention in using a form of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f].
I agree with you that [name_u]Josie[/name_u] is just fun and has a 1950’s flare to it.

Thank you again!

@Greyblue Thank you so much for this! I love all your favors and your reasoning for why you like them is so helpful. [name_u]Romy[/name_u] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] and [name_u]Romy[/name_u] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] are both so sweet! Of your other suggestions, I also love:
[name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Edie[/name_f] [name_f]Maren[/name_f] +
[name_f]Pippa[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]

Thank you so much! I think sometimes the joy names bring us is a good enough reason to use one we love. I do think it might be hard sometimes if the child with the name that brings joy has siblings and perceives their name (I.e. Sunday) as less important or meaningful than siblings’ names in this case though. But I really like the subtle Biblical connotation and the connection to faith.
For now, the feeling get when I think about naming a daughter [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] wins. I’ll let myself enjoy the name and worry about the rest later!

Thank you again!

I love Sunday Katherine & Audrey Maren the most! Piper Katherine and Sunday Marie are great too.

I like Evie Elizabeth but would change to Eve Elizabeth for a more refined feel (and because Evie has had her day imo). You could then use Evie as a nn.

Maybe Josephine Eliza/Elise/Eloise (nn Josie) would be a good addition.

Or Eve Josephine.

I really like Romy, I just think it could be paired better (I like Victoria just not sure it’s ideal after Romy) or possibly be a nickname for Rosemary or Romilly.

I would scratch Frankie from the list - it’s too hip and harsh sounding compared to your others. I know a few Frankie’s and the “Kie” part is quite grating. Yeah, I just don’t love Frankie with so many other options.

@EloiseT Thank you so much! [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] is the one I am leaning toward of the options with [name_f]Sunday[/name_f]. And was initially thinking of pairing [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] together because I think they sound so sweet and unexpected. But then I questioned myself because their styles re drastically different. I do like love a good mismatched set though!
I love your suggestion of [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] nn. [name_f]Evie[/name_f]! Typically, I like [name_f]Eve[/name_f] better as a middle (I thought of it as a possible middle for [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]. [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is !) But I think [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] nn. [name_f]Evie[/name_f] really works, and I am loving it!

Thank you again!

I chose [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Maren[/name_f]: none is a favorite of mine but they struck me as beautiful together
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]: I like the flow, I’ve been a little obsessed with [name_u]June[/name_u] for different reasons and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is just beautiful
[name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u]: it has a balance of uniqueness and familiarity to it that I like a lot

@Eirime Thank you so much! I’ve loved the name [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] for a very long time! [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is my favorite variant of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], and I love the idea of using it as a first name to honor my maternal grandmother. I’m usually not a huge fan of one-syllable names as first names, but I’m in love with the idea of using [name_u]June[/name_u] as a first name right now! I think it’s beautiful in either spot.

Thank you again!

[name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u] and [name_u]Romy[/name_u] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]. So simple and reminds me of the past centuries, yet modern. Pair well together. Both first names are [name_m]German[/name_m] diminutives of classic names (Margarete and Rosemarie) and middles are classic Panwestern royal family names, and all the names then have a stylistical pair and somehow this makes them… balanced artistically to my eyes. Like rhymes in a poem. Also all the names are easy to read, write and spell in most languages, and are very international. They also have a spunky and cool flair, while having older names to use in case they want something more substantial. So musical. They sound like something I would choose for my children more realistically, hah. Another idea is [name_f]Greta[/name_f] Marianna(if you like more the vintage/classic) or [name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Marika[/name_f] (if you like more the modern), but [name_u]Marie[/name_u] is good on its own :sunflower:

Honestly I think regarding [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] you could be overthinking it slightly there are so many names used nowadays to the point where matters regarding professionalism will the name work in a boardroom is a non issue nowadays. Your [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] will be going to school/work with children called [name_u]River[/name_u], [name_u]Maverick[/name_u] and [name_u]Indigo[/name_u]. If [name_u]River[/name_u], [name_u]Maverick[/name_u] and [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] work why not [name_f]Sunday[/name_f]? I also think this is the same with whether [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] will be teased. Why would [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] be teased when her classmate is [name_u]Forest[/name_u]? Regarding aging your [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] will also be going bingo with her old aged pals named [name_f]Clover[/name_f] and [name_u]Axis[/name_u] so this is also a non issue. I think family/friends approval could be tough you can’t force your family to like a name but they should also see the enthusiasm you have for [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] and respect that.

[name_f]Sunday[/name_f] is gorgeous go for it
