Which Ben name is best?

I adore [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u], it’s one of my personal favourites and it also gives the nn [name_m]Benji[/name_m] which is so cute.

[name_u]Bennett[/name_u] I think!

I prefer [name_u]Bennett[/name_u]. I can’t see it getting too popular any time soon and boy names are less likely to become dated than girl names.

[name_u]Benjamin[/name_u], while a solid classic, is very overdone to me.

I actually really like [name_m]Bernard[/name_m] but I don’t know if it’s too nerdy or not ready for a comeback yet

I like it! It’s strong & vintage & unique.

[name_u]Benjamin[/name_u]

[name_m]Will[/name_m] you call him [name_m]Ben[/name_m] regardless of his full name? I think a [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] is 99% likely to be shortened to [name_m]Ben[/name_m]. Not necessarily [name_u]Bennett[/name_u]. I know three Bennetts - 2 go by [name_u]Bennett[/name_u] and 1 goes by [name_m]Benny[/name_m].

If you plan to use the nn [name_m]Ben[/name_m] regardless, I would maybe look at which style you prefer. [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] is more of a classic, evergreen name. [name_u]Bennett[/name_u] is a bit preppy and more modern/fresh.

I prefer [name_u]Bennett[/name_u] (it’s my son’s middle name because my husband couldn’t get on board with [name_u]Bennett[/name_u] as a first) but both are really great names.

Both are great but agree with pp that having the option of [name_m]Benji[/name_m] swings [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] for me!

I’ll use [name_m]Ben[/name_m] probably 60% of the time, but I would like to use the full name as well. I don’t want my child feeling uncomfortable with his full name since it never gets used!

That’s super hard. I love them both! I have a cousin named [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] and I have [name_u]Bennett[/name_u] as a middle name on my own list. lol. I’m really into surnames as first names right now, so I would choose [name_u]Bennett[/name_u].
