My favorites are [name_u]Sailor[/name_u] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] [name_u]Noah[/name_u] Riker. I chose these specific two combos simply because you are going to call your children by their given name (I presume, you didn’t say otherwise) and [name_u]Sailor[/name_u] and [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] are my favorites. Why? I like the symbolism of [name_u]Sailor[/name_u], we are just sailors (as adventurers) in the enormous ocean that is the world, and I love word names. While, I like the soft image, but strong sound (plus it ends in A) of [name_m]Ezra[/name_m]. [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] means “help” according to Nameberry, you could see it as [name_m]Ezra[/name_m]'s fate is being a helpful person.
[name_u]Sailor[/name_u] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] doesn’t flow extremely well: 3 short names all of them containing As with the SAME sound (“ay”). Because I’m also fond of the symbolism behind “[name_f]Grace[/name_f]”, I would keep “[name_u]Sailor[/name_u] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]” and find a substitute for [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. [name_u]Sailor[/name_u] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Ishbel[/name_f]? [name_u]Sailor[/name_u] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Aurelie[/name_f] (“the golden one”)? [name_u]Sailor[/name_u] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_u]Christobel[/name_u]/ [name_f]Christabel[/name_f]? [name_u]Sailor[/name_u] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Lilibeth[/name_f]?
[name_m]Ezra[/name_m] [name_u]Noah[/name_u] Riker is a VERY religious name, at least, the “[name_m]Ezra[/name_m] [name_u]Noah[/name_u]”. If you are not religious, I would change the [name_u]Noah[/name_u] part (besides, [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] and [name_u]Noah[/name_u] kind of rhyme). Riker I [name_m]DON[/name_m]'T LIKE AT ALL, because I keep thinking about the Rikers Island, a jail in NY City (keep in mind, I’m not American nor English is my first language and I STILL know this). Conclusion: I just like [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] and I would change [name_u]Noah[/name_u] and Riker. Maybe instead of [name_u]Noah[/name_u], you could use [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] (a type of quartz), [name_m]Henry[/name_m] (“estate ruler”), [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Leo[/name_m] (“lion”), [name_m]Victor[/name_m] (“winner”/ victory) or [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] (“mind, intellect”). And instead of Riker, you could use [name_u]Blake[/name_u], [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] (“little king”), [name_m]RYDER[/name_m] or maybe [name_u]Kai[/name_u] or [name_u]Lake[/name_u] (both have water-related meanings like [name_u]Sailor[/name_u] - could be a nice connection between siblings).
Why NOT the others?
Copeland [name_f]Serena[/name_f] [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]: first I thought “Copeland is TOO place-y”, then I google it and I have no idea if Copeland is actually a place name or not, all I know is that ALL the first page of Google entries is about a band called Copeland. Besides, it reminds me of [name_m]Cooper[/name_m], I name I don’t like and is more male than female [for me]. I love [name_f]Serena[/name_f] and its meaning “serenity”. I also like [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] which I think it’s a nice, normal, but not filler/without personality (btw, [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] means “laurel tree” - if you are [name_m]Christian[/name_m] this could be a name of significance).
[name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] [name_u]Arden[/name_u]: [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] has a very nice sound and I used to watch “Wizards of [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] Place”, a Disney TV show, and I have nice memories of it. However, I prefer the symbolism of [name_u]Sailor[/name_u] and [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] makes me think of the verb “waver” (not the best association). Taking into account only the sound, this combo is the one with the best flow. [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] is a little bit old-lady and very [name_u]Grey[/name_u]'s Anatomy (main character: [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] [name_u]Grey[/name_u]). [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] has a cool meaning, “great ruler”, and it reminds me of the word “merry”, which is cute. [name_u]Arden[/name_u] is unisex, on trend, Shakespearean and as the Nameberry description says “another reason to love [name_u]Arden[/name_u]: its similarity to 'ardent.” - need I say more?
[name_m]Ronan[/name_m] [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] [name_m]Dempsey[/name_m]: [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] is simply not my style (I prefer [name_u]Rohan[/name_u] or [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]/ [name_u]Rowen[/name_u]) and I recently watched Guardians of The [name_f]Galaxy[/name_f], in which [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] is the antagonist. The [name_u]Ronny[/name_u] nickname makes me think of [name_u]Ronny[/name_u] [name_m]Wesley[/name_m] (a thing you may or may not like). [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] has a great sound and it makes me think of [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] [name_m]Wood[/name_m] (and consequently, of [name_m]Frodo[/name_m], Hobbits and LoTR) and of [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] Mikaelson of the TV show The Originals/ The Vampire Diaries (cool guy btw). [name_m]Dempsey[/name_m] is… [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] [name_m]Dempsey[/name_m], the man who plays [name_m]Derek[/name_m] [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m], [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] [name_u]Grey[/name_u]'s husband in [name_u]Grey[/name_u]'s Anatomy. Otherwise, [name_m]Dempsey[/name_m] has a nice and modern sound, even though I think it’s a little better for girls.
[name_u]Ashton[/name_u] [name_m]Beckett[/name_m] [name_m]Daniel[/name_m]: ok… [name_u]Ashton[/name_u] is one of those name that I don’t understand the appeal. If you want the “[name_u]Ash[/name_u]” part I suggest [name_m]Asher[/name_m] (“fortunate, blessed, happy one”) and [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] (which was/is a male name in origin, just like [name_u]Meredith[/name_u]). [name_m]Beckett[/name_m] is “cool” and on trend (surnames as given names) and I personally adore the nn [name_u]Beck[/name_u] (like the character in Victorious). [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] is a classic, can’t go wrong with one of them.
