Wow, I guess it depends on which nickname are you planning or which middle name are you going to use.
My ranking would be:
[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] followed by [name_m]Leo[/name_m]
[name_m]Edward[/name_m], [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_m]Edmund[/name_m]. I’m not really a fan of [name_m]Edmund[/name_m], and while I like [name_m]Leo[/name_m], it seems like a nickname to me. [name_m]Edward[/name_m] and [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] are both lovely.
[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] are pretty much tied favourites. Then [name_m]Edward[/name_m], he’s always felt a bit stuffy for me. Never really liked [name_m]Leo[/name_m], probably because it was fairly popular near me when I was in my teens and I got a bit bored of it.
[name_m]Edmund[/name_m] is my favourite, followed closely by [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]. [name_m]Edward[/name_m], eh, I just can’t get over the ward part. Have you considered [name_m]Edwin[/name_m]? [name_m]Leo[/name_m] seems more nicknamey to me as well.
My vote went to short, sweet and simple little [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. I must admit that I do find [name_m]Edward[/name_m], [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] and [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] to be quite dated and heavy, while [name_m]Leo[/name_m] is not, so that swayed my vote predominately.
[name_m]Edmund[/name_m] is my favorite but [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] comes close and [name_m]Edward[/name_m] isn’t far behind.
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] is a perfectly fine name but I personally don’t love it, and it definitely has a different tone than the other options.
This is really tricky because these are all gorgeous names!
Purely based on sound, style and imagery, I’ve always adored [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. I think it’s the perfect boy name: strong, simple, bright, dynamic and international. But it’s just so popular that, for me, it’s never been a top contender. And I wonder if to others it might feel a bit trendy/predictable?
[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is a beautiful soft yet solid name with a sweet meaning. Another favourite of mine, but again rather “in” at the moment.
[name_m]Edward[/name_m] and [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] are both lovely with great nickname options (I like [name_m]Ned[/name_m], Ted/[name_u]Teddy[/name_u] and [name_m]Bear[/name_m]). The first feels very safe, classic and timeless, while the second feels wonderfully whimsical, old-fashioned and literary. Of the two, I prefer the more distinctive and underused [name_m]Edmund[/name_m].
[name_m]Edmund[/name_m] ultimately got my vote, but [name_m]Leo[/name_m] is fantastic too.
