We’re strongly considering [name]Daisy[/name] for a FN, and if we go with it, we’d like to continue a family tradition of the initials “DJ” (last name is one syllable). Our top contenders are:
“[name]Josephine[/name]” and “[name]Johanna[/name]” are feminine versions of family middle-names ([name]Joseph[/name] and [name]Jonathan[/name]), but we’re leaning toward “[name]Juliet[/name],” because we’re not crazy about the potential “[name]Daisy[/name] [name]Jo[/name],” which we don’t care for.
[name]Daisy[/name] [name]Juliet[/name] is lovely, though I do think [name]Daisy[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] is gorgeous. [name]Dahlia[/name]'s another nice D flower name if you’re interested. Best of luck!
I like [name]Daisy[/name] [name]Johanna[/name] better but if you want to avoid [name]Daisy[/name] [name]Jo[/name], [name]Daisy[/name] [name]Juliet[/name] might be a better option. [name]Josephine[/name] is lovely, too.
[name]Daisy[/name] [name]Johanna[/name] is my favorite - so sweet and elegant at the same time. I wouldn’t worry about the nn [name]Daisy[/name] [name]Jo[/name] - they probably will call her [name]Daisy[/name], as that will be her first name.
I’ve never really understood why people add middle names to first names. If you want to use the middle name aswell then you’d double barrell it. I would doubt that most people would even know my middle name let alone use it along with my first. If you prefer one of the ‘[name]Jo[/name]’ names then go with it. Although there are people that make assumptions about names and call people what they like (I introduce myself as ‘[name]Deb[/name]’ and peope say ‘oh, [name]Debbie[/name]’ !!! - if I was ‘[name]Debbie[/name]’ I would have said ‘[name]Debbie[/name]’!!!) most people will call her Diasy and if they do use ‘[name]Daisy[/name]-[name]Jo[/name]’ then you could always tell them that she’s just [name]Daisy[/name].
I think [name]Daisy[/name] [name]Jeanne[/name] / [name]Daisy[/name] [name]Jean[/name] would be cute. Other J names that probably wouldn’t become [name]Jo[/name]:
[name]Janine[/name]
[name]Joy[/name]
[name]Janelle[/name]
[name]Jemma[/name]
Jessame
[name]Jordana[/name]
Thank you, all, so very much. Yes, we will likely call her “[name]Daisy[/name]” period. Great point about the middle names (it probably won’t be an issue in general, unless we bring it to the forefront), and people who make assumptions about names in general – I hear you loud and clear, [name]Deb[/name]!!! There’s only so much we can do! (sigh) Daddy will be very happy – his MN is [name]Jonathan[/name], and he loves "[name]Daisy[/name]*, so, when she arrives, we’ll see if that combo suits her, and take it from there. THANK YOU!!!
