[name]Hi[/name]!
We are expecting [name]Baby[/name] Girl #2 in just a few weeks, and still do not have a name for her. My older daughter’s name is [name]Harper[/name], and we really liked the name [name]Emmeline[/name] (with a nn of [name]Emme[/name]) for this little one (although it was not 100%), however our best friends just named their daughter [name]Emerson[/name] in [name]October[/name] and have recently started calling her [name]Emmy[/name] on occasion, so we feel we can’t use that.
We live in mid-size, somewhat rural Southern town in the United States to give you an idea of the context her name will be in! (It seems to me that what is popular in the US isn’t necessarily popular in the UK and vice versa. In other words, [name]Francesca[/name] and [name]Ophelia[/name] would not go over well here despite being beautiful names!).
Here are some of the names we’ve discussed, but just aren’t really in love with.
[name]Anniston[/name]
[name]Chandler[/name]
[name]Campbell[/name] (nn [name]Cam[/name])
[name]Elise[/name]
[name]Everly[/name]
[name]Scarlett[/name]
[name]Ellis[/name]
[name]Lynden[/name] (or [name]Linden[/name])
[name]Emmeline[/name]
[name]Ellington[/name] (nn [name]Elle[/name])
[name]Arden[/name]
Adeline/Adelaide (nn Addie)
Though [name]Harper[/name] seemed a bit unusual at the time (and to the older generations), it is actually getting to be quite popular here, and I believe was #54 on the 2011 list, so we’d like something that is a bit different, but not “out there.” Also, we have a 3 syllable Italian last name, so long names that end in -a are out. I tend to like names that can be spunky and a bit unisex (but can be feminized with a girly middle name) or have a literary context.
[name]Do[/name] you like any of those or have some better suggestions? We’d really love to have baby named by [name]Valentine[/name]'s [name]Day[/name] but it isn’t looking like that will happen!
Thanks in advance for your help!
