I can’t (and never will) like [name_u]Blair[/name_u].
It’s blaring and sounds loud and abrupt. Especially next to such a lovely name like [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. [name_f]Hyacinth[/name_f] doesn’t improve much.

I would suggest [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f].

I just love love love [name_u]Blair[/name_u], so I voted for [name_u]Blair[/name_u] [name_f]Hyacinth[/name_f].

I also really dislike [name_u]Blair[/name_u], but personal feelings aside I prefer [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] [name_m]Becker[/name_m].

I’m not a fan of [name_u]Blair[/name_u] as a first or middle, but [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is lovely!

If you are planning on calling her [name_u]Blair[/name_u] either way I would definitely go with [name_u]Blair[/name_u] [name_f]Hyacinth[/name_f]. You’re husband is right that it can be confusing and frustrating to go by a middle name rather than your first.
Personally I think [name_u]Blair[/name_u] [name_f]Hyacinth[/name_f] is the much prettier and more interesting combo. I’m not a huge fan of [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and I think [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] sounds pretty bland. [name_u]Blair[/name_u] [name_f]Hyacinth[/name_f] is lovely.

[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] is gorgeous! I adore [name_u]Blair[/name_u]!

[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] is lovely!!

Thanks for the input everyone!

Squidly: I would probably call her [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and Hubs call her [name_u]Blair[/name_u] if we went with my combo. However nobody knows what to call his youngest brother because [name_f]MIL[/name_f] calls him by his first name and FIL calls him by his middle name and the siblings call him by either name. He’s almost 9 months old and still doesn’t really show recognition of either name.
And my oldest [name_m]SIL[/name_m] goes by her middle name at home but her first name at school and [name_f]MIL[/name_f] calls her by her first name which is the name my [name_m]SIL[/name_m] prefers. But after calling her by her middle name for “so long” nobody can seem to remember her preference for [name_f]Hazel[/name_f].

I think it’s really confusing to call a child by two completely different names. That’s even worse than just going by your middle name. It’s obviously caused problems for your husbands siblings so I think he has a valid concern in not wanting to give your child a name where you would both call her by different names. I think if you can’t agree to call her the same thing with either of these combos than you should start over and find something new.

I agree. I find it off that his brother isn’t responding to either name. I wish Hubs would give up [name_u]Blair[/name_u] but he’s insistant. He’s brought up [name_f]Helena[/name_f] a few times and has said he likes it more but won’t consider using it. I don’t know why.

I love [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. I don’t like [name_u]Blair[/name_u], but as a middle name it is fine.

[name_u]Blair[/name_u] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] hands down.

I think [name_u]Blair[/name_u] [name_f]Hyacinth[/name_f] is rather cute, to be honest. Is there a way you could incorporate [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] into the [name_u]Blair[/name_u] [name_f]Hyacinth[/name_f] combo?

I think [name_u]Blair[/name_u] [name_f]Hyacinth[/name_f] is really unique and pretty. I love it on paper, but said aloud I love the flow of [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] (tho it does make me think of [name_u]Jo[/name_u] & [name_u]Blair[/name_u] from Facts of Life, but I’m old :)).
