[name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is beautiful!

The names [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] and [name_m]Mark[/name_m] get my vote!

Thank you! The only thing making me a bit hesitant is how popular [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]'s becoming - it’s almost in the UK top 20!

That is why I prefer [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f].

I prefer [name_f]Iris[/name_f] as a more uncommon name, however, [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] has a better flow.

I voted [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f].

[name_f]Iris[/name_f] is such a pretty first name.

I prefer [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f]! It flows better [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. [name_f]Iris[/name_f] & [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] are not that far away from each other on the popularity charts in the US for it to make a real difference for me. [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] is #92 & [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is #149.

I think it depends on the syllables in your last name. If your last name is 2 syllables, [name_f]Iris[/name_f] should be first. If your last name is 3 syllables, more than likely [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] should be first.

I hadn’t thought of that, but it’s such good advice! Thank you! I must say, I still do prefer the flow of [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f], but [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] is starting to win out for me. My surname is two syllables, so I think [name_f]Iris[/name_f] would work better with it. Also, my surname is Dagnall, and I worry that [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] Dagnall sounds too rhymey.

I prefer [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] as [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is more uncommon than [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] and I feel like it flows a lot better. What you really need to think is though, if you chose [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] as a first name, do you want it to be shortened to
[name_f]Izzie[/name_f]/[name_u]Izzy[/name_u]/[name_u]Isa[/name_u]/[name_f]Belle[/name_f]/[name_u]Bell[/name_u]/[name_f]Bel[/name_f]? If you do not want it to be shortened, I would suggest having [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] as the middle name because people do tend to shorten names down whenever possible!

[name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is lovely, and flows better [name_f]IMO[/name_f].

[name_f]Iris[/name_f] for sure! I know of about 20 [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]/[name_f]Isabella[/name_f]'s all under the age of 3!

Thanks for the advice! I’m not overly-keen on nicknames, so I’d probably just use [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] most of the time, but I would probably occasionally call her [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] or [name_u]Isa[/name_u], and I have no problem with other people shortening the name. As a whole, I do tend to prefer nickname-proof names, though, so I think I’m starting to slightly prefer [name_f]Iris[/name_f] as a first name.

Yes, I do understand what you mean as [name_f]Iris[/name_f] simply cannot be turned into a nickname because of how short it is. Personally, I think [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is the better option for her first name because of the nicknames and such and because (again another personal thing :D) I feel like shorter names should go first if you get what I mean? My name is [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] [name_f]Gracie[/name_f] (trust me there is a lot of [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]'s) and yet if you flip my name around to [name_f]Gracie[/name_f] [name_f]Isabella[/name_f], it sounds a bit better. I now go by [name_f]Bella[/name_f] (as a nickname not by law) and I feel like [name_f]Bella[/name_f] [name_f]Gracie[/name_f] goes better.
Coming back to [name_f]Iris[/name_f]/[name_f]Isabelle[/name_f], when she is older (like me) and her name is [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f], she might want to go by [name_f]Izzie[/name_f]/[name_u]Izzy[/name_u]/[name_u]Isa[/name_u]/[name_f]Belle[/name_f]/[name_u]Bell[/name_u]/[name_f]Bel[/name_f] more often than [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] and you prefer nickname proof names so this might be a little annoying? ([name_m]Even[/name_m] though we know you will love her as she is no matter what )
