It’s tough because I think [name_m]Henry[/name_m] nn [name_m]Hal[/name_m] is very handsome and it gets around your nickname concerns with [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] nn [name_m]Nate[/name_m].
But, I think [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_m]Frank[/name_m] flows better and I think [name_f]Margo[/name_f] and [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]/[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] sound better together than [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m].
I love both but I think [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] works best! I wouldn’t automatically jump to the nn [name_m]Nate[/name_m] and [name_u]Nat[/name_u] is sweet
I think they both go well with your daughter’s name. I personally love [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] but I adore [name_m]Henry[/name_m] so I voted for [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. I think people will confuse [name_u]Nat[/name_u] with [name_m]Nate[/name_m]. I feel [name_m]Nate[/name_m] is the automatic nickname people think of and I think people will think you are saying [name_m]Nate[/name_m] with a slight accent or drawl. I personally would not use a nickname for either.
Either name is a good choice, but I think I like [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] better with [name_f]Margot[/name_f]!
I think both sound beautiful and classic, and nice with [name_f]Margot[/name_f].
Good luck!
I think [name_m]Henry[/name_m] goes beautifully with [name_f]Margot[/name_f], although [name_m]Nathanial[/name_m] is quite nice with it too. It’s tough because I much prefer [name_u]Nat[/name_u] to [name_m]Hal[/name_m] (I think of halitosis… sorry) so ultimately I’d say go with [name_m]Nathanial[/name_m] with [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. I quite like [name_u]Nat[/name_u] as a nickname actually (I also like [name_m]Nate[/name_m]).
Both are great names but it sounds like [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] is the name you and your partner both like. I think if there is one name you both love, you’ve got to go for it. I don’t think the nickname issue is a deal breaker either. Besides [name_u]Nat[/name_u], there’s also the more obscure [name_u]Neil[/name_u], [name_m]Nash[/name_m], [name_m]Tanner[/name_m], [name_m]Thayer[/name_m].
Both very handsome names. I chose [name_m]Henry[/name_m] because I love the nickname [name_m]Hal[/name_m] and I think [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] is risky if you don’t like [name_m]Nate[/name_m].
I should probably have added that we’re in the UK rather than the US - I think [name_m]Nate[/name_m] is less of an automatic nickname here. I’ve actually never met a little [name_m]Nate[/name_m] or even an adult [name_m]Nate[/name_m] in the UK! Lots of Nathans though.
