mabel all the way for me !! matilda is a lovely blend of sweet and strong, and i do really like its sound, but she’s kind of lost her sparkle for me, being so popular in my area. mabel on the other hand is just so romantic and warm and rich - she’s got vintage flair but works really well at any time, and i just love her sound and meaning. gorgeous !!

This is SUCH a close one for me. I’ve always loved [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] for the book reference, the historical queen, and the amazing strong meaning :crossed_swords: it also reminds me of the lovely Miss [name_u]Matty[/name_u] in [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] Gaskell’s Cranford.

Having said that I must know about five Matildas under five at the moment. It seems like a lot of people in my age group had the same thoughts about it! :sweat_smile: so if I was choosing one for a little girl now, I’d probably choose [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]!

Thank you! I’m in the US so both are not common around here. I meet a lot of kids and have not met any Matilda’s and only 1-2 Mabel’s. I appreciate your help!
