Which do you prefer?

We are deciding between [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] - leaning [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] but curious what others think?

Both lovely!

I would choose [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] Jane:heart:

Eloise is my name and a middle of my daughter’s - but I would go for the playful & disarming, Phoebe.

I love both names - but so many El/ Elle / Ellie (and Belle / Bella) etc names have been incredibly popular over the last 15 years. I know there are other great Eloise nicknames but it’ll be hard to avoid an Elle/Ellie one at least some of the time.

So I would go Phoebe Frances - or I would actually possibly go Phoebe Jane (or at least consider it):

Phoebe Frances gives you the fun Fifi for a second nn (after Pheebs) - but it’s a touch awkward to go from Phoebe to Frances. I also really like PJ as initials for Phoebe Jane. I know someone who got the nickname Peej from PJ that then became Peach - she’s now Peach to most (outside of formal contexts where she’s Phoebe).

I guess this also all depends on flow to last name and which nicknames you like. Overall, Eloise Jane is slightly more glam and polished, while Phoebe Frances has a more vintage & cosy, warm feel. They both sound like literary characters & fans.

Another option Frances Phoebe nn Franny - this is so sweet to me while also being serious when needed too.

Hope this helps solidify either way!

Edited to add clarification but also to say Phoebe Frances is definitely more distinctive and unique than Phoebe Jane - Frances is one of my all-time fave names and later realised you can of course use Peach for it too - even Peaches if that nn appeals af all. So I’m basically here to support Phoebe Frances.. It’s very lovable! :teddy_bear:

Both are great! My favorite between the two is [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]

I love the warm glow of [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f]!

@EloiseT makes some excellent points (as always!) - El- names are really prominent at the moment, and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] with either middle gets you the better nicknames imho (love Peach!! But [name_f]Fifi[/name_f] and PJ are also adorable)

They’re both adorable, but I love Phoebe Frances a touch more. I love how the middle and first name compliment each other and the sounds echo a little without feeling too rhyme-y.

I really adore [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] and [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f]! [name_m]The[/name_m] alliteration is splendid and I love the skippy, cheeky vibe I get from her, like she’d be the sweetest little troublemaker! I also find her a bit more interesting next to [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], which is very pretty and sweet, but more buttoned up than what I’d like.

I like [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] too, but not as wild about the ‘f’ alliteration. Would you consider switching the middle to [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]? Has a nice ring to it I think!

[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] feels the most interesting to me, though I’m not a huge fan of [name_f]Frances[/name_f] in general. I like [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] a little more, but am voting [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] for the unexpectedly lovely factor!

Good luck!

I’m team [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] Frances!! I love [name_f]Jane[/name_f], but [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] just has that super fun unusual spark to her that I adore!!

Congratulations :green_heart:

[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] is sweet, sparky and versatile – I like it a lot

[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] :sun_with_face:

pj is an adorable nickname

Oh my goodness, both are gorgeous combos! I would lean towards [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] France’s, personally, just on account of knowing so many little girls with El- names. I was recently talking to a teacher about baby names and she mentioned that she had advised her daughter who is expecting another girl to avoid El- names because she has so many come through her classroom every day.

Honestly might add [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] to my girls list on the off chance we ever produce something other than all boys. :joy:I love it that much.
