I think [name_m]Alphonse[/name_m] probably fits the bill best, although it isn’t my favourite.

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_u]Auguste[/name_u]? Seems to match the majestic/triumphal vibe of [name_f]Victoire[/name_f], without feeling too matchy.

[name_m]Maxence[/name_m] fits perfectly with [name_f]Victoire[/name_f] and has the character you describe.

[name_m]Alphonse[/name_m] is very old-fashioned in [name_f]France[/name_f], while [name_m]Bastien[/name_m] doesn’t have the upper-class feel of [name_f]Victoire[/name_f]. [name_m]Gaspard[/name_m] could work, but feels more “strong and silent” than hedonistic to me.

I voted [name_m]Bastien[/name_m]. I sounds great with [name_f]Victorie[/name_f]. I do also like [name_m]Alphonse[/name_m], but I love the same number of syllables.

I like [name_m]Alphonse[/name_m] best as it flows well with [name_f]Victoire[/name_f].
Another suggestion would be [name_m]Emile[/name_m].

This is very insightful! Thank you so much. The general consensus in this thread is [name_m]Alphonse[/name_m], but the poll says [name_m]Bastien[/name_m], but then again, I also do agree with your insights on [name_m]Bastien[/name_m]!

It’s truly difficult to just decide on a name when names have always been a big deal in my writing. Very torn!

@katinka, @apollonia and @michael82 I love the suggestions of [name_u]Auguste[/name_u], [name_m]Alexandre[/name_m] and [name_m]Emile[/name_m]! Although, I like them better as middles than first names. But thank you for the suggestions!

[name_m]Alphonse[/name_m] in general is my favorite name here but when considering the type of characters I think I lean toward [name_f]Victoire[/name_f] and [name_m]Gaspard[/name_m]!
