Which frilly belle?

So I confess, I [name]LOVE[/name] the 3 and 4 syllable frilly, princess-y names. I’ve always wanted a name that sounds like a feminine southern belle, and now that we are TTC I’m finding myself torn between two. [name]Annabelle[/name] and [name]Arabella[/name] both have wonderful qualities and I can’t choose! What are your opinions on each name?

[name]Annabelle[/name] - seems spunky for a little girl and distinctively southern. Like a girl who would wear a dress to climb a tree. Also seems to flow well with our son [name]Jack[/name]. This seems like the safer of the two choices to me. The obvious nn [name]Anna[/name] is also a plus.

[name]Arabella[/name] - this is the kind of name I used to wish I had as a child. To me it feels southern and sophisticated. Maybe a little less rambunctious than [name]Annabelle[/name]. I just worry it doesn’t work well [name]Jack[/name], although it seems like a perfect fit with his full name [name]Jackson[/name]. It’s less common which is a plus but it just means I have to be very sure of our choice. Also love the nn [name]Ella[/name] with [name]Jack[/name].

I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I like [name]Arabella[/name]! Its a little prettier and glamourous than [name]Annabelle[/name]. I think it goes with [name]Jack[/name] just fine, it kinda makes [name]Jack[/name] seem a little more sophisticated too!

I think [name]Arabella[/name] is more original, I am tending to think about names that are not in the top 10 kind of thing but are still pretty and accessible

[name]Arabella[/name]! I don’t really like [name]Annabelle[/name], especially that spelling {[name]Annabel[/name] looks much neater to me}. [name]Arabella[/name] and [name]Jack[/name] are wonderful together!

I like [name]Annabelle[/name] and [name]Jack[/name] together, I think they flow better.

I really like [name]Arabella[/name] & [name]Jack[/name] together!

I get the same southern, princess-y feel from both names, but annabelle would age better to me and seems to just have more substance than [name]Arabella[/name]. I also infinitly prefer [name]Annabel[/name] spelling, personally. [name]Both[/name] are beautiful names and go nicely with jack (annabel a bit more maybe)

[name]Jackson[/name] and [name]Arabella[/name] work well together as do [name]Jack[/name] and [name]Ella[/name].

I, too, prefer [name]Arabella[/name]. [name]Ann[/name]abelle, looks too excessive.

I like [name]Annabelle[/name] better. [name]Arabella[/name] sounds trendy to me, whereas [name]Annabelle[/name] is a Southern classic. I also think it sounds better with [name]Jack[/name]. You could use [name]Ann[/name], [name]Anna[/name], [name]Annie[/name], [name]Belle[/name], [name]Elle[/name], or [name]Ellie[/name] as a nickname. I think it’s good for a girl to have options

I much prefer [name]Annabelle[/name], [name]Arabella[/name] is cute and I can see the appeal, but to me it lacks something. It’s like all frosting and no cake, sweet and sugary and starts to wear on you after awhile. [name]Annabelle[/name] though has the sugar sweet side, but also has some substance too it.

I adore the nicknames [name]Anna[/name] and [name]Annie[/name] ([name]Jack[/name] and [name]Annie[/name] - could anything be cuter?) so I will have to vote for [name]Annabelle[/name]!

I like both, but [name]Annabelle[/name] goes better with [name]Jack[/name]. She would also have a lot more nn options, and it is a more traditional name. [name]Both[/name] have the princess-y feel.

Have you considered [name]Annabella[/name]? It’s such a beautiful name, it’s on my list.

I prefer [name]Arabella[/name]. I love frilly, feminissima names and “A” endings! [name]Both[/name] are lovely though, and go well with [name]Jackson[/name] (not as much with [name]Jack[/name]).

I love both but I prefer [name]Arabella[/name]. I also love [name]Annabella[/name]. My favorite -belle name is [name]Mirabelle[/name] (I think that works well with [name]Jack[/name]!)

Personally, I wouldn’t get carried away with laces and frills for a daughter’s name. [name]Both[/name] names seem a little over-the-top next to the solid, no-nonsense [name]Jack[/name]. I do think changing the spelling may help a bit. I prefer the spelling [name]Annabel[/name] and I think it looks more Southern belle than the French [name]Annabelle[/name]. [name]Annabel[/name] and [name]Jack[/name] look good. [name]Annabelle[/name] and [name]Jack[/name] not so much.

[name]Arabella[/name] all the way. While [name]Annabelle[/name] is a very Southern name, she reads a bit dated and airheaded. [name]Jackson[/name] and [name]Arabella[/name] make a beautifully romantic sibset, and the nicknames [name]Jack[/name] and [name]Ella[/name] are too cute for words!

This is hard.
I prefer the the [name]Annabel[/name] spelling, as most berries here do too.
[name]Annabelle[/name]/[name]Annabel[/name] seems more southern belle to me than [name]Arabella[/name].
Personally, I prefer [name]Arabella[/name].
This was fun

Another vote for [name]Annabelle[/name], though I prefer the [name]Annabel[/name] spelling much more.
