So after reading some thoughtful input from previous posts (thank-you berries!) we have rethought our girl name choices…and it’s down to 3. All are very long and feminine, and not common where we live. Thankfully hubby and I always like the same names I am often pleasantly shocked to suggest an ‘out-there’ name and he will love it!
Please take a moment and let me know your favorite or least favorite and why? I won’t be offended by any comments as I know these are not necessarily names for everybody. We really enjoy each of the names and the decision is going to be very difficult…but fun!
I like [name]Georgiana[/name] and [name]Octavia[/name].
Some other names I think go well with [name]Isadora[/name]:
[name]Aurelia[/name]
[name]Arabelle[/name]/[name]Arabella[/name]
[name]Augusta[/name]
[name]Eugenia[/name]
[name]Eliana[/name]
[name]Francesca[/name]
[name]Angelique[/name]
[name]Camelia[/name]
[name]Evangeline[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Jacinda[/name]
[name]Lucinda[/name]
[name]Amaryllis[/name]
[name]Rosaline[/name]
[name]Celeste[/name]
[name]Seraphina[/name]
[name]Tatiana[/name]
I’m not as fond of [name]Araminta[/name]. It might be shortened to [name]Minty[/name], which makes me think of a book (can’t remember the name) in which a teenaged boy refers to his rich grandmother by that nickname.
[name]Georgiana[/name] is gorgeous. Top choice from your list, for its musical feel and possible nicknames ([name]Georgie[/name], [name]Georgia[/name], [name]Ana[/name], etc.) I like it with the simpler one-n spelling, personally.
[name]Octavia[/name] is okay, but what do you think of [name]Ottavia[/name]? It’s got a nice, softer “Oh” sound…
I like [name]Octavia[/name] better. I don’t get the appeal of [name]Georgiana[/name] and [name]Araminta[/name] seems a little awkward to say.
Good [name]Luck[/name]!
[name]Georgiana[/name]. [name]Octavia[/name] seems like it should only be used for an 8th child or 8th daughter. Or perhaps one born in [name]October[/name].
Would you be pronouncing [name]Georgiana[/name] Jor [name]JAN[/name] uh, Jor [name]JAY[/name] nuh, or [name]George[/name] ee anna? [name]Just[/name] curious! It’s a beautiful, rich, full name in all its incantations!
[name]Octavia[/name] is also lovely. [name]Both[/name] go well with sibling [name]Isadora[/name].
[name]Araminta[/name] isn’t one I’m too familiar with, and I’m not a huge fan of the “mint” in the middle.
Other suggestions: [name]Henrietta[/name] or [name]Henriette[/name], [name]Margaret[/name], [name]Rosalia[/name], [name]Seraphine[/name], [name]Anastasie[/name], [name]Jacqueline[/name], [name]Helena[/name], Raphaella,
[name]Georgiana[/name] is one of my favorite names. I just love it! Especially with a quirky, spunky middle name. However I have to say… [name]Isadora[/name] & [name]Octavia[/name] is the best pair. They are the easiest to say together, and the most distinctive. I would love to meet little sisters with these names!
Out of the three, [name]Araminta[/name] is by far my favorite choice. It is such a beautiful, unique name that sounds different enough to have it’s own identity, but it still fits really well next to [name]Isadora[/name]. (And I like it even better after seeing the suggestion of nn [name]Ari[/name], so cute!) In general, I think either [name]Araminta[/name] or [name]Octavia[/name] matches best with [name]Isadora[/name] and I like that they would both have names that start with vowels. [name]Georgiana[/name] is not my style, but let us know what you choose! Good luck. =]
I prefer [name]Octavia[/name], esp with [name]Isadora[/name]. [name]Both[/name] seem regal and strong. [name]Georgiana[/name] is a really close second though. [name]Lovely[/name] names!
my reply didn’t show up
but being that isadora is an italian name usually which its beautiful by the way… I love that name and im also italian… good name! i have an ariana lolz.
I think these names flow prettier with isadora
[name]Giovanna[/name] (if i spelled correctly)
[name]Jordana[/name]
[name]Rayna[/name]
[name]Mariana[/name] ( my great italian gram used to call my mom that, I think its very pretty)
Thank you for reminding me about [name]Ottavia[/name]. I should have put that as an option alongside [name]Octavia[/name], as I do love that variation as well.
