I like [name]Lucia[/name] the best. The others are nice, but I like the more modern feel of [name]Lucia[/name], and it’s always been sweeter and more interesting than [name]Lucille[/name] or [name]Lucinda[/name] to me. I love [name]Louisa[/name], but I think it’s more of a stretch to use the nn [name]Lucy[/name]. Still, if you don’t mind stretching it a bit, that would actually be my favorite, I think.
The only other [name]Lucy[/name] names I can think of are [name]Lucille[/name] and [name]Lucette[/name]… I saw [name]Lucette[/name] someone’s Facebook feed the other day and thought it was interesting. It feels like it’s missing something to me, though, so I’m not sure I would use it. I think it has a dainty, sweet, approachable feel to it I like though.
Good luck!
I like [name]Lucia[/name] the best.
[name]Luciana[/name], Lucianne/Luciane, [name]Lucina[/name]/[name]Lucine[/name] would also make nice choices. [name]Lucina[/name] is the goddess of childbirth in [name]Roman[/name] mythology if I remember correctly
I picked “other” because my favorite full name for [name]Lucy[/name] is [name]Luciana[/name]. I just really love that name. However, out of your choices, I’d say [name]Lucia[/name] is my favorite.
This is exactly what I wanted to say.
[name]Hi[/name]! I love all 3 names, love love love! So hard to pick! However I think [name]Lucia[/name] is my top (love the nickname [name]Cia[/name]/Sia too!), [name]Louisa[/name] is second (to me, it’s just not all that natural to call a [name]Louisa[/name] [name]Lucy[/name], but certainly you can), and [name]Lucinda[/name] is 3rd (I don’t think it’s too clunky, but it is on that side of things, and if you’re concerned about it, don’t do it : D!).
[name]Lucia[/name] is actually a fairly multicultural name, to me. Besides the Spanish (Loo-see-a), there’s the Italian (Loo-chee-a), it’s also the name of a saint who’s highly celebrated in Scandinavia. To me, that 3rd element bridges it more into the Anglo/Northern European world (if that in fact is the heritage you’re from, and even if not, I just think having heavy use in 3 cultures makes it more easily worn by anyone).
Good luck and all best!
I like [name]Lucia[/name], but I like [name]Lucille[/name] even better.
@thetxbelle – [name]Luna[/name] was the moon goddess in [name]Roman[/name] Mythology. [name]Lucine[/name] is Armenian
I picked other because I prefer [name]Lucine[/name] or [name]Luciana[/name]…but [name]Lucia[/name] is fine too from your own list.
I like [name]Lucille[/name] and [name]Lucia[/name] best. [name]Lucia[/name] is also the Swedish form of [name]Lucy[/name].
I like all three names but I like [name]Louisa[/name] and [name]Lucia[/name] better than [name]Lucinda[/name]. I had a hard time choosing between [name]Lucia[/name] and [name]Louisa[/name] but I chose the former because I think it has a stronger tie to nn [name]Lucy[/name]. As pp suggested, I really like [name]Luciana[/name] as well.
[name]Louisianna[/name]
I’m [name]Lucinda[/name] with nn [name]Luci[/name] and I love both! [name]Lucinda[/name] has never seemed clunky to me, just elegant, feminine, and perfect for using on those more formal occasions. Because of the related meanings, I would stick with [name]Lucia[/name], [name]Luciana[/name], etc. with [name]Lucy[/name] as nn instead of [name]Louisa[/name] (although I like [name]Louisa[/name] a lot too).
I voted for [name]Louisa[/name], but, thinking about it, I think my pick would be [name]Lucille[/name] so I should have voted for “other.” I love the name [name]Lucy[/name] all on its own and don’t really think it needs a longer name though.
