[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] by a landslide. It’s a super gorgeous name.

I don’t really care for [name_f]Charlize[/name_f] all that much, and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] as the middle name is just very common and tired.

I think everyone would pronounce these names accurately. [name_f]Charlize[/name_f] is the most unusual of the group, but actress [name_m]Theron[/name_m] has made the name familiar to most. I prefer [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] of the two.

Most people named [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] do have a nickname, such as G.G., [name_f]Gigi[/name_f], [name_f]Ginny[/name_f], [name_f]Gina[/name_f], [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Vivi[/name_f], etc. Maybe it is because the name is so long.

I think it is better to stick with the name itself. What do you think?

I voted for [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] but [name_f]Charlize[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is also quite pretty.

Couldn’t have said it better!

[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] by far . I think its a gorgeous name . I don’t really like [name_f]Charlize[/name_f] . I think its an dated name [name_f]IMO[/name_f] .

Are you pronouncing [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] the [name_m]French[/name_m] way or English way? I’d say the English way is familiar enough to people. As her parents, you’ll be able to guide most people on nns until she can choose her own. So if you want people to call her the full [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], then say that. Some people will ignore you anyways. So maybe think of a nn you like just in case.

[name_f]Charlize[/name_f] is pretty, but it loses points to me for being so linked to a celebrity, plus it’s so close in sound to the uber-popular [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] for girls right now. I’m sure it would get misheard as [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] all the time.

I love [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] and share your concern about possible nn’s. I dislike nn’s and prefer to name the child something you love and always use that name. I agree with the above poster that you will be able to guide people to using her proper name and from then on, that is who she is known as. At least, that should work

[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] is adorable!!!

[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] by a million.

In reply to your query about nicknames -I think the majority of parents would like to have the full name used and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] is just lovely like that .
However from most of my communication other children are given nicknames by family or their friends, so I find there are now two scenarios.
A percentage of parents who love [name_m]Archie[/name_m] e.g. but to give their child room to move will register the full name [name_m]Archer[/name_m] for when he is older or just the choice .
The other however is when your lovely [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] is called [name_f]Evie[/name_f] or [name_f]Gen[/name_f] and you really don’t like those names. I think we figure if we get in first with the best shorter name we like . eg [name_f]Viva[/name_f] or [name_f]Genna[/name_f] or [name_f]Neve[/name_f] then it might be established as a short version, but try callng [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] -you maybe able to establish that, sorry if i sound doubtful -It can be done but it takes much perserveranve and sometimes even your child will want a shorter name.
JMHO. Best wishes.

It seems that most like [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] better. My wife and I are leaning towards to [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] as well. Thank you very much for all of your opinions. I think it’s time to close this thread.
