We have an [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] (named after mother and grandmother). We are due any day with unknown gender baby. [name_m]Set[/name_m] on baby boy [name_m]Lars[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m] (after husband’s grandfathers). Stuck on girls names between these choices…
[name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] ([name_f]Winifred[/name_f] is a family name, [name_f]Lily[/name_f] a dear friend)
[name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] (still to honor [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] but we are hesitant on using the full length “[name_f]Winifred[/name_f]”)
[name_f]Faye[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] ([name_f]Faye[/name_f] has no family significance which is our only hesitation, [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] for mother in law).
[name_u]Wynn[/name_u] and [name_f]Faye[/name_f] are my favourites with [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], they have the same amount of whimsy for me. [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] is a little serious, and with potential brother [name_m]Lars[/name_m] I find her too long as well.
Tweaking it around a bit, I like the flow and rhythm of [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] and [name_f]Faye[/name_f] [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] more.
[name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] sort of runs together and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] makes [name_f]Faye[/name_f] feel a little dated. I feel like [name_f]Faye[/name_f] needs a modern twist to truly shine.
[name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] would be my pick though, saying the name makes me smile ^^
Thanks dearest…great advice…We really only considered [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] because of the family connection but you are spot on with it sounding too serious with our whimsy [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]. I was hesitant to cut down [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] to [name_u]Wynn[/name_u], but am very drawn to your suggestion of [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] (never would have gotten there on my own).
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is so darling ^^
[name_f]Happy[/name_f] to be of help!
However reading now I remember (I can’t believe I forgot) that [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] are both short forms of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], and that with [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] you have already honoured [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], even if you didn’t do it intentionally. Would this bother you?
I like [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] as well, [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] maybe a bit more although [name_f]Lily[/name_f] sees a lot of use.
Names with the same rhythm as [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] (if you need more alternatives)
[name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] / [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] (loo-SEE-ah)
[name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Helena[/name_f] (he-[name_m]LAY[/name_m]-nah)/ [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Elena[/name_f] / [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Eleni[/name_f]
[name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Adela[/name_f]
[name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]
[name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f]
[name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Estella[/name_f]
[name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]
[name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Linnea[/name_f]
[name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Leona[/name_f] / [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Leonie[/name_f]
[name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f]
[name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Luella[/name_f]
[name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f] / [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Eugenie[/name_f]
[name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Odessa[/name_f]
I like [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Leonie[/name_f] or [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f] the most.
I did consider [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] is a diminutive of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] but we had already decided we don’t mind having 2 forms of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] as [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] is after my mom, and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]/[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] as a middle would be after my mother in law. We would steer clear of [name_f]Lily[/name_f] as a first name as it is quite popular. [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] does run together as you said, but I do still think it has a nice ring to it Feeling more confident in my draw towards [name_u]Wynn[/name_u]…not sure why we are second guess ourselves!
I love [name_u]Wynn[/name_u]. It’s on my own lists as well (and [name_f]Fey[/name_f]!) ^^
[name_u]Wynn[/name_u] sounds like -win- and it is rather unusual, but with [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] so familiar and [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] on the rise, I think people will adjust quickly.
I don’t mind [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] with [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] is quite whimsical and charming in its own right. That said, I would prefer full name [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] over [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] if it were me. [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] is still cool, but it seems a little choppy since it’s so short. [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] and [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] would make a beautiful sibset though. [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is just as pretty as [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]. [name_f]Faye[/name_f] seems a little more finished to me for some reason. Maybe it’s because I see it way more. I agree with another poster, though. I do not like [name_f]Faye[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. It’s difficult to say.
I adore [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] so that name gets my enthusiastic thumbs up! You can always use [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] or [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] as a nickname. [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] and [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] are a lovely vintage pair. For me, [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] is more contemporary and unisex.
I really like [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f]! I plan on naming my future (waaaay future) children after someone dear I knew with that name, so I would keep [name_f]Lily[/name_f]. [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] sounds more contemporary and modern. Plus, it’s cute.
