[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone,
Expecting my first baby (girl) and struggling to get to a favourite name. These are on our list so far. It would be great to get your opinions on any you love/ hate? Also suggestions would be amazing!! Thanks
[name_f]Lovely[/name_f] list!! The only one I’m not such a fan of us [name_f]Arielle[/name_f]. I prefer [name_f]Ariella[/name_f], but you might also like [name_f]Aria[/name_f] or [name_f]Estelle[/name_f]
From your list, I really love [name_f]Margot[/name_f], [name_u]Piper[/name_u] and [name_f]Alessia[/name_f]
Some suggestions: [name_f]Pippa[/name_f], [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], [name_f]Adelia[/name_f], [name_f]Alba[/name_f], [name_f]Sienna[/name_f], [name_f]Flora[/name_f] and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
I like [name_f]Margot[/name_f], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], and [name_f]Alessia[/name_f]. I guess [name_f]Alessia[/name_f] might be a little weird if you don’t have any Italian heritage since it sounds very Italian to me. [name_f]Astrid[/name_f], [name_f]Arielle[/name_f], and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] are all a little harsh to me in sound, but I think that’s just me. [name_u]Piper[/name_u] has a very preppy image to me, not sure if others share that.
I [name_f]ADORE[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], so those two get my vote! They’re all lovely, but those have my heart.
I like [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] & [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. I don’t mind [name_f]Alessia[/name_f]. I am not a fan of the rest, but that does not mean that they aren’t good - just not my style. I love the name [name_f]Cora[/name_f].
[name_f]Margot[/name_f]: I’m not generally a fan of names w/a hard g sound in them, although I prefer [name_f]Margot[/name_f] to [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] & [name_f]Agatha[/name_f]!
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]: Very sweet name…it always reminds me of the younger sister in the Boxcar Children book series.
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]: I’m sufficiently old enough that [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] reminds me of a maid’s name.
[name_u]Piper[/name_u]: It’s NMS.
[name_f]Arielle[/name_f]: It’s pretty; light & delicate. There are other [name_u]Ari[/name_u]-names I like better, but [name_f]Arielle[/name_f] is something I might consider if I were still in the baby-naming stage.
[name_f]Astrid[/name_f]: The d-ending seems abrupt to my ear.
[name_f]Alessia[/name_f]: Very pretty & soft-sounding.
I really like [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_f]Alessia[/name_f]. [name_u]Piper[/name_u] seems very different to all the other names, and I don’t like it.
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] is great. Its old fashioned but a little funky. Super fun!
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] is so sweet, I love it!
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] kind of combines the sweetness of [name_f]Violet[/name_f] with the spunk of [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. It’s probably my favorite from your list.
[name_u]Piper[/name_u] I find super trendy and childish. Sorry. I don’t dislike all trendy names but I just can’t picture being an adult woman named [name_u]Piper[/name_u] and not feeling silly introducing myself.
[name_f]Arielle[/name_f] I feel no strong emotions for positive or negative. I think she will be asks about the little mermaids a lot.
[name_f]Astrid[/name_f] I like. It has a bit of a mysterious vibe.
[name_f]Alessia[/name_f] I’m also neutral on.
I really like [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_u]Piper[/name_u]. [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is adorable but very popular. I think at some point, [name_f]Violet[/name_f] will be associated with the 2010s the way [name_f]Linda[/name_f] is associated with the 1950s. [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] is one of those old-lady names that has come roaring back. I know I’m supposed to think it’s cool and hipster, but I think it should have stayed in mothballs.
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] - I’ve just never seen the appeal, sorry! Also I knew a [name_f]Margot[/name_f] who pronounced the T on the end so I always read it and have to remind myself it [name_f]Mar[/name_f]-go.
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] - It’s a nice name, a bit too popular for me.
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] - It’s ok, I prefer names with nicknames and I happen to know a [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] who I don’t get on with. It clouds my judgement a little.
[name_u]Piper[/name_u] - I have a massive soft spot for [name_u]Piper[/name_u]! It’s just so spunky.
[name_f]Arielle[/name_f] - I think it looks lovely. Is it [name_u]Ari[/name_u]-elle or [name_f]Air[/name_f]-ee-elle though? Both are nice, though I prefer [name_u]Ari[/name_u]-elle. I also love [name_f]Ariella[/name_f].
[name_f]Astrid[/name_f] - [name_f]Lovely[/name_f]!
[name_f]Alessia[/name_f] - It’s nice, I don’t love it though.
Top 3: [name_u]Piper[/name_u], [name_f]Arielle[/name_f] and [name_f]Astrid[/name_f].
There’re all lovely, but I’ve ranked them in order of preference:
[name_f]Alessia[/name_f] (love it)
[name_f]Astrid[/name_f]
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
[name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_u]Piper[/name_u] (cute but too nicknamey for me)
[name_f]Arielle[/name_f] (still too closely tied with Disney and mermaids for me)
