With [name]Riley[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name], I like something like [name]Delaney[/name] or [name]Piper[/name]–unisex, like [name]Riley[/name], but has a feminine nn ([name]Pippa[/name] and [name]Laney[/name]). [name]Emilia[/name] or [name]Cora[/name] are my favorites just as they are, though, with no thought to sibsets.
Thank you both. I like all of them, and we can’t decide whether she wants to go unisex or feminine, but it will probably end up more feminine so it doesn’t appear that she’s had twin boys, instead of one of each.
[name]Riley[/name] [name]Anne[/name]
Definitely Keep:
[name]Elizabeth[/name] – Very classic and beautiful. Might not be as spunky as [name]Riley[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name], but I’d keep it for a potential middle.
[name]Elaine[/name] – [name]Love[/name] this with the others!
[name]Evelyn[/name]
[name]Madeleine[/name] – I like this, I’d spell it [name]Madeline[/name] though to look more classic
Maybe:
[name]Delaney[/name] – I like the name in general, but not a fan of it with [name]Riley[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name] for some reason
[name]Amelia[/name] – I don’t like this with [name]Riley[/name]. It’s really feminine and beautiful compared to the spunky ambiguous [name]Riley[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name] – I wouldn’t want a [name]Charlotte[/name] and a [name]Caroline[/name] … and then a [name]Riley[/name].
Get rid of:
[name]Piper[/name] – I don’t see the appeal of this name. It comes off as so trendy to me. Plus I don’t see this aging well at all.
[name]Emilia[/name]
[name]Cora[/name] – Doesn’t sound right with other names
[name]Elea[/name] – Looks made up
[name]Piper[/name] (trendy and overly cutesy)
[name]Delaney[/name] (ends the same as your name [name]Riley[/name])
[name]Caroline[/name] (another version of [name]Charles[/name] like [name]Charlotte[/name])
I think [name]Cora[/name], [name]Caroline[/name], [name]Elaine[/name] and [name]Evelyn[/name] are the freshest, esp in the UK. They strike the sweet spot between classic and modern.
[name]Delaney[/name] and [name]Piper[/name] are too trendy, and while they complement [name]Riley[/name], they leave [name]Charlotte[/name] as the odd one out.
[name]Amelia[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name], [name]Emilia[/name] and [name]Madeleine[/name] are too classic, and make your name the odd one out.
Thanks everyone. I still like [name]Delaney[/name] and [name]Piper[/name], but Jackies friend told her it was too perky. Seriously, just try saying [name]Piper[/name] really depressed, it isn’t possible! It’s like trying to make the word bubbles sound evil! Anyway, favorites still are:
[name]Evelyn[/name]
[name]Cora[/name]
[name]Elaine[/name]
[name]Emilia[/name]
[name]Lillie[/name]/[name]Lily[/name]
I know some might not like them all, but we do
Also, any thoughts on “nature” names, specifically [name]Violet[/name], [name]Rose[/name], [name]Ivy[/name]?
