Personally my favorite is [name_m]Charles[/name_m], although I prefer [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]. With [name_f]Estella[/name_f], I prefer [name_m]Louis[/name_m].
I voted for [name_m]Orson[/name_m] because it’s heavy on vowel sounds and S sounds like [name_f]Estella[/name_f], a perfect complement! Second I like [name_m]Louis[/name_m], then [name_m]Atticus[/name_m], [name_u]Spencer[/name_u], [name_m]Charles[/name_m] and lastly [name_m]Viggo[/name_m]. Personally, I don’t see the last three going very well with your sweet [name_f]Estella[/name_f]'s name! Good luck choosing
Without any bad ground, I would pick [name_m]Charles[/name_m]. However, after reading your post, I voted for [name_m]Atticus[/name_m]. I feel that it fits better with [name_f]Estella[/name_f], and [name_m]Charles[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] sounds a bit strange to me. I feel that [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] has a much nicer ring to it.
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] sounds the best.
[name_m]Charles[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] and [name_m]Orson[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] don’t sound as nice as some of your other choices. I think [name_u]Spencer[/name_u], [name_m]Viggo[/name_m], and [name_m]Louis[/name_m] go best with [name_m]George[/name_m]. They are all fine with [name_f]Estella[/name_f] but I think the more important consideration should be how the FN and LN sound together, as that is how he will be known.
[name_f]Estella[/name_f] and [name_m]Atticus[/name_m]! Such perfect sibling names.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Viggo[/name_m]
[name_m]Louis[/name_m] is second pick, although I think he flows a little better with your surname. [name_m]Viggo[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] has a lot of G sounds.
Both are wonderful with [name_f]Estella[/name_f] ^^
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] and [name_f]Estella[/name_f] Goerge sound great together.
Thanks for all the replies. All the feedback is so mixed, I’m thoroughly confused! I really felt we were going with [name_m]Charles[/name_m] (nn [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]), but no one seems to like it with our last name. I like how masculine [name_m]Viggo[/name_m] sounds with the very feminine [name_f]Estella[/name_f]. [name_m]Orson[/name_m] feels fresh, classic and familiar to me. I love [name_m]Louis[/name_m] (the [name_m]French[/name_m] pronunciation, not [name_m]Lewis[/name_m]) and I’m wondering which version people think when they see the spelling. [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] is new on my list but I’m nervous it’s too much of a hipster, sounds-cool-right-now pick. Ugh! What do I do?!
I love love love [name_m]Viggo[/name_m]! So strong and handsome! It’s also recognisable but unique and I think it works really well with the softer, feminine [name_f]Estella[/name_f].
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] would be my second choice. I like the TKAMB connection and I think it works well with both your surname and [name_f]Estella[/name_f].
Of the others [name_m]Louis[/name_m] would be my next choice (I would pronounce this ‘[name_u]Lou[/name_u]-ie’, if you want the ‘lou-is’ sound I’d use the [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] spelling). It’s a lovely classic and very much in style with [name_f]Estella[/name_f]. It’s also a safer, more familiar choice. If [name_m]Viggo[/name_m] as a first is a bit too out there for you I love the combo [name_m]Louis[/name_m] [name_m]Viggo[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m]!
I don’t think [name_m]Charles[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] works. [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_m]George[/name_m] is better but it feels more like a first middle combo that a first surname one.
I’m not a fan of [name_m]Orson[/name_m], it’s a bit too ‘hipster’ for me. I do like [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] and [name_m]Ozias[/name_m]/[name_m]Osias[/name_m] though.
[name_u]Spencer[/name_u] is nice and works with your surname but I don’t think it really holds its own next to the beautiful [name_f]Estella[/name_f].
That’s how I feel about [name_m]Viggo[/name_m]! I love the juxtaposition of such a masculine name with the ultra-feminine [name_f]Estella[/name_f]. However, I feel it would be a tough sell with the family. But thank you for the [name_m]Louis[/name_m] [name_m]Viggo[/name_m] suggestion. I really like that too!
[name_u]Spencer[/name_u] is my fav
Personally, I would remove [name_m]Orson[/name_m] from consideration. The repeated “or” sound in [name_m]Orson[/name_m] and [name_m]George[/name_m] would make it a no-go. To my ears, this repetition detracts and distracts from the combo. [name_m]Charles[/name_m] is a fine name, but a multiple-syllable name would sound better with [name_m]George[/name_m].
My vote is for [name_m]Louis[/name_m], secondly [name_u]Spencer[/name_u].
[name_m]Viggo[/name_m].
I have fallen madly in love with this name and I love that it is so intensely masculine and strong next to the sweet and feminine [name_f]Estella[/name_f].
It’s on my list for my third baby, but haven’t mentioned it to hubby yet, because I’m scared it will get the dreaded veto!
I think [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] is very “hipster”, I am not a fan of the old men trend so that rules out [name_m]Charles[/name_m] and [name_m]Orson[/name_m] for me. [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] is very posh and a touch feminine.
[name_m]Louis[/name_m] is a fantastic name - pronounced [name_m]Louie[/name_m], and I love it with [name_f]Estella[/name_f] too.
Good luck!
Thanks for all the feedback! It seems people love [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] but are divided on the rest. I’m just worried [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] might be a fad right now and not having lasting appeal.
I love [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] and love the sound of [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m], but [name_f]Estella[/name_f] and [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] do seem a bit mismatched (not that that matters too much, and you certainly don’t need a cohesive sibset, but it seems like most Berries go for that). With [name_f]Estella[/name_f], I think I like [name_m]Louis[/name_m], [name_m]Orson[/name_m], and [name_m]Charles[/name_m] the best, but I agree that [name_m]Charles[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] doesn’t sound ideal. My favorite with [name_f]Estella[/name_f] was [name_m]Orson[/name_m], so that got my vote. They’re all nice names, though!
I voted for [name_u]Spencer[/name_u], but that was before I read you were trying to match with [name_f]Estella[/name_f] and [name_m]George[/name_m]. So I would change my vote to [name_m]Viggo[/name_m]. [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] sounds great with [name_m]George[/name_m] too, but I would also worry about it being a fad.[name_m]Orson[/name_m] is okay and goes with both, but I prefer [name_m]Viggo[/name_m] a little more.
I feel [name_m]Orson[/name_m] has a lot of the same features as [name_f]Estella[/name_f] too: classic, familiar but not hardly used, not likely to be trendy and a name that can suit a child and adult. But [name_m]Louis[/name_m] and [name_m]Charles[/name_m] are major contenders as well. Thanks for the feedback!
Thanks everyone! It looks like we’re going with [name_m]Charles[/name_m] nn [name_u]Charlie[/name_u].
