I want an honest opinion on which you prefer and why.
I prefer [name_m]Louis[/name_m] pn. Loo-ee, since in my mind it’s the [name_m]French[/name_m] variation, so should be said the [name_m]French[/name_m] way. Loo-iss already has [name_m]Lewis[/name_m], and I really like the sound of Loo-ee, sweet but regal as well.
Also, you have a cool name!
Personally I love Loo-ee as [name_m]Louis[/name_m] [name_u]Theroux[/name_u] is totally my celebrity crush Loo-ee sounds so cute for a boy and nice for a man as well.
Much prefer [name_m]Louis[/name_m] prn. [name_m]Lewis[/name_m]
I love [name_m]Louis[/name_m] (prn Loo-ee)! It was on my list for a long time but I removed it because most would go straight to the [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] prn. which I really dislike. [name_m]Louis[/name_m] just sounds so soft and I think of [name_m]Louis[/name_m] from Interview With A Vampire which was my favorite movie growing up. Also where I discovered [name_f]Claudia[/name_f], which hubby doesn’t like =(.
[name_m]Louis[/name_m] will never be anything but [name_u]Lou[/name_u]-EE to me. If you want [name_m]Louis[/name_m], just go with [name_m]Lewis[/name_m], I think it would be easier… but then again it depends on the place you live.
I prefer [name_m]Lewis[/name_m]. I think that way, you can call him [name_m]Louie[/name_m] (prn. [name_u]Lou[/name_u]-ee) as a nickname whenever you’d like. So you sort of get both. Plus, I just think [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] sounds better.
[name_f]IMO[/name_f], [name_m]Louis[/name_m]/[name_u]Lou[/name_u]-ee sounds [name_m]French[/name_m] and sophisticated.
[name_m]Louis[/name_m]/[name_m]Lewis[/name_m] sounds middle-aged. Positive connotation of author [name_m]Louis[/name_m] Sachar, but he’s 60+ years old.
I put [name_m]Louis[/name_m] pron. [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] in the same category as [name_u]Gary[/name_u], [name_m]Larry[/name_m], [name_f]Debbie[/name_f], [name_f]Sue[/name_f], and [name_f]Pamela[/name_f].
I like both and think it depends on the surname and combo. [name_m]Louis[/name_m] pronounced LOO-ee is my first choice though.
