which is worse?

I voted ending the same, but I don’t think either is necessarily bad. I actually love alliteration in most cases (obviously there are some that just sound silly, but most are memorable and peppy), and ending in the same letter only occasionally bothers me when the names rhyme in an awkward way.

I’m really not keen on names ending the same but I don’t really mind the same starting letter.

I voted ending the same, but honestly I don’t find either that bad, what I find awful is ending with a letter and starting a name with that last letter. For example: [name]Richard[/name] [name]Daniel[/name] or [name]Clara[/name] [name]Annabelle[/name]. It just runs together to form one long name imo

There isn’t anything wrong with either, it’s personal preference.
