[name_f]Susannah[/name_f] is my favorite out of the names listed. It used to seem a little country to me, because I couldn’t help but think of the song, “oh [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] don’t you cry for me, for I come from [name_f]Alabama[/name_f] with a banjo on my knee…” Now I am seeing it being picked up and used by hip young parents. I love that the name itself and its nicknames can work for any age ([name_f]Susie[/name_f], [name_f]Sue[/name_f], [name_f]Suzan[/name_f]). I also prefer the spelling with the “h” on the end.
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f]. It sounds sweet, a bit old-fashioned but not overused
I voted for [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. They are both two lovely vintage ladies:)
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is my favorite listed. Mostly because I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_m]Little[/name_m] Women, but it just seems so versatile. It’s girly, but not terribly frilly. I also like [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] (which is my mn, only minus the -h).
Out of those, [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] is my favorite. It gives off such a carefree and positive vibe. It feels like an orange and marigold colored name, if I had to color it.
[name_m]Just[/name_m] a warm and welcoming name.
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is my favourite. I love the [name_m]Little[/name_m] Women connection.
Sorry, I voted three. I couldn’t choose between [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] and [name_f]Adeline[/name_f].
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] is just beautiful. All the girls called [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] have been beautiful and hilarious people, like all of them (they all tend to be blonde, weirdly, because I know 6… and a [name_f]Febe[/name_f] who isn’t).
[name_f]Susannah[/name_f] is so gorgeous and underused here. I’m OBSESSED with nn [name_f]Susie[/name_f] because of Moonrise Kingdom, it’s just adorable. I’ve also been crushing on [name_f]Zuzanna[/name_f] recently but it doesn’t have the same soft, sunny appeal.
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] is so [name_m]French[/name_m] and elegant. I’ve liked it since I read something by [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] Yen Mah who is a really amazing Chinese author. It’s just gorgeous.
I picked [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], and [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]. [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is my sister’s name, and the nicknames [name_u]Jo[/name_u] and [name_u]JoJo[/name_u] are so spunky. [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] is a relative’s name and I’ve grown to love it over the years, and I fell in love with the name [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] in the eighth grade (because of an R. L. [name_f]Stine[/name_f] novel, of all things).
I like [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]. [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] are tied for 2nd and [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] is a distant 3rd (it’s just too dated and country for me).
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] is so sweet and unusual. [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] is more common, but is such a great, fun name that I can’t help but love it! [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] has some cute nn’s which is nice ([name_u]Jo[/name_u], [name_u]Josie[/name_u], [name_f]Fina[/name_f] ect.). And [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] is filled with old school charm.
[name_f]Susannah[/name_f] is definitely my favorite.
So classy and so many lovely nn options.
All of them are pretty names though.
Thank you, everyone!
@julylacs I saw that you have [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Tess[/name_f] in your signature…love! I may have to play around with that
@ashleyjuliette I feel that exact same way about [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]. It’s is so friendly and warm and…orange!
Based on the poll results it seems like there is nearly equal love for all of my choices except for [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] which is lagging behind a little.
I do love the versatility that most of these names offer…[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] could be nn [name_f]Addy[/name_f], [name_f]Ada[/name_f], [name_f]Della[/name_f]…Jospehine as [name_u]Jo[/name_u], [name_u]Josie[/name_u], [name_f]Posy[/name_f]…[name_f]Susannah[/name_f] as [name_f]Zana[/name_f], [name_f]ZuZu[/name_f], [name_f]Annie[/name_f], etc. [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] I would nn Lissy I think, though [name_f]Flick[/name_f] is growing on me. [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] would just be delightful [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
Which two or three of these would you pair as sisters? Would you combine any of the choices as first-middle combos? (I’ve thought of all of them as first names, but I’m curious…) Which is your favorite with big brother [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m]?
Thanks!
is way overused and bizarrely popular. I don’t know why! It sounds like an adenoidal old singer.
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is a great name, but does seem to be becoming very popular at least on nameberry.
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] feels done from Friends.
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] is lovely.
[name_f]Susannah[/name_f] is lovely too, but [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] feels freshest to me.
I love [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] & [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]. They’re sweet and spunky. I love them. I really like [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], but I prefer word names for a middle. I’ve always had an soft spot for it.
@stlmama225 Definitely feel free to steal it! I have no kiddos of my own yet and I’m sure when I do, I am sure DH will veto [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Tess[/name_f]. If I can’t use it, someone should!
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f]. I don’t know, I guess because I like the nickname Lissy.
I love [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]!!! It’s soooo pretty and it’s such a fun, happy name! And it’s so fun to say. To me the name has always felt magical, and it just sparkles! I think it would be a wonderful first name!
Thank you, everyone! It looks like all of my names are pretty well loved! Though I’m changing my mind constantly, these are my combos at the moment. WDYT? I’d also still be interested to hear which you like best for [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m]'s sister. Thanks!
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f]
[name_f]Susannah[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] - I adore this! It’s vintagy and sweet, and I just love seeing it. It’s so pretty.
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] - don’t care for it, generally. I know it’s a pretty big favorite on here, but I just find it really boring. Sweet, but boring. I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] the nns [name_f]Posy[/name_f] and [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], but I can’t seem to bring myself to use [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] to get to them.
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] - it’s okay, but it has always seemed really whiny to me, and I like other Greek mythology (and Bible) names more.
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] - [name_f]LOVE[/name_f]! Second favorite.
I prefer it as a middle, but I love how happy and sweet she is, and she’s just so darling.
[name_f]Susannah[/name_f] - meh. I’ve never really liked [name_f]Susannah[/name_f], personally–she seems so hillbilly-ish to me, despite her length and elegance. I can appreciate her, and I even kind of like the [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] spelling (it feels more lush and less hillbilly), but I can never get super excited about her. Sorry.
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] is my favorite, followed by [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]!
I love [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]! I’ve loved that name for as long as I can remember and 7 years ago, before I even wanted to have kids, I got a puppy and used the name for my pet so alas I will never have a child named [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]. But it’s a beautiful name, it’s strange enough that your child will likely never have another [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] in their class but common enough that people can say/spell it easily. To me it has a kind of spunky, artsy, slightly eccentric (but in a good way) vibe.
