I prefer [name]Leila[/name], which is also my mother’s name. She was raised with it being pronounced “[name]LEE[/name]-la” by her family and most strangers. She says the [name]Eric[/name] Clapton song was a sea change and ever since then she’s just let people say “[name]LAY[/name]-la” because it’s easier… I think it is a beautiful name and wish it didn’t clash with my dh’s surname. We will use it as a middle name though ([name]Leila[/name] spelling).
I like [name]Leila[/name] and [name]Lila[/name] respectively.
