I voted [name_f]Valencia[/name_f], I like [name_f]Cia[/name_f], [name_f]Vallie[/name_f] or [name_f]Leni[/name_f] as a nickname.
[name_f]Aviva[/name_f] is also starting to grow on me, so that would be a close second.
i voted pandora. I love the name. I love its not overused and the teasing os panda would not be that bad would it?
Anyway its definitely my choice
All the best.
When I first just read the names I liked [name_f]Aviva[/name_f] best.
But then I read your comments and you had good points for each name. [name_f]Aviva[/name_f] and [name_f]Athena[/name_f] sound strange next to each other. [name_f]Aviva[/name_f] sound like someone had said [name_f]Athena[/name_f] 100 times while half asleep.
Post comment reading I think [name_f]Valencia[/name_f] and [name_f]Pandora[/name_f] are the best!
I like Lensy ([name_m]Len[/name_m]-cee)! Or [name_f]Leni[/name_f]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like [name_u]Vale[/name_u] as a nn?
[name_f]Dora[/name_f] or [name_m]Pan[/name_m] could be great nn for a [name_f]Pandora[/name_f] when she’s older
I voted for [name_f]Aviva[/name_f] because it’s gorgeous and I love the meaning. I think it sounds fine with [name_f]Athena[/name_f]. My name sounds very similar (more similar than that) to my brother’s and it hasn’t been a problem. We also have a third sibling whose name starts with a different letter.
I really like all of your choices except [name_f]Pandora[/name_f], which I think could be hard to wear. There is also the association with the jewelry store and the music to consider. Good luck!
[name_f]Pandora[/name_f]’s my favourite girl name, and has been for years, so of course my vote had to go to her. I used to have [name_f]Valencia[/name_f] as a middle for [name_f]Pandora[/name_f] too, which really made me love it. The meaning and strength of both names is a big plus in my opinion. I like [name_f]Enna[/name_f] (N-a) as a nn for [name_f]Valencia[/name_f].
[name_f]Aviva[/name_f] is lovely.
Thank you for all your votes and opinions! Please keep them coming!
I’m quite surprised at how close the voting is! In all my other polls there tends to be a clear winner, that doesn’t seem to be the case here!
@gabriellenz I do quite like [name_u]Vale[/name_u] as a nn, so that’s another option, thank you! I also like [name_m]Pan[/name_m] for [name_f]Pandora[/name_f] (especially with the His Dark Materials association, but I’m not a fan of [name_f]Dora[/name_f]
@erin beth Thank you for your insight into what it’s like having a similar name to one of your siblings, it’s nice to hear it doesn’t cause any problems taking that out of the equation would probably put it at the top of our list (I know it’s hubby’s favourite!)
My favorite is [name_f]Valencia[/name_f]. It’s a great fit with your other children’s names, and I don’t exclusively associate it with the place. It shares a root with [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] and [name_f]Valerie[/name_f] and it’s been used for a long time as a name, so it doesn’t necessarily scream “place name” to me.
I like [name_f]Aviva[/name_f] a lot, but I don’t think it’s the best with [name_f]Athena[/name_f]. I wouldn’t say they’re too close to use, but they share beginning and ending letters and have the same 3-syllable, penultimate emphasis structure, so they’re closer than I personally like.
Would you consider [name_f]Chiara[/name_f]? A lot of berries aren’t fans of Ks or nontraditional spellings, so the original Italian version may be better received. I prefer the C spelling, but I think it’s a nice name either way and it would work with [name_u]Toby[/name_u] and [name_f]Athena[/name_f].
