I love [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] called [name_f]Lillian[/name_f].

My general rule is usually this: if one parent loves the nickname-for-a-name, and one parent loves the more “full” name with the same nickname, then go with the “full” name on the birth certificate, and use the nickname at home. Then both parents get when they want, and the kid has an alternative if they want it. I myself have a very long formal name, which was chosen for the nickname, and then my parents ended up using a different nickname, and now as an adult I go by yet another nickname, because it fits me better. I love having the options.

That being said, [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_m]Levy[/name_m] is really hard to say, and repetitive as well. [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_m]Levy[/name_m] is easier to say, but if you’re going to use [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] either way, I don’t think it really matters. If it were me, I’d insist on going by [name_f]Lillian[/name_f]. Honestly, unless [name_f]Lillian[/name_f]/[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] is absolutely THE name, I’d look for something a little less tongue-tying.

I agree with the above poster. [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_m]Levy[/name_m] is a tongue twister and both names just sound way too similar next to each other. [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_m]Levy[/name_m] sounds much better, gets you both names, and works okay if this is really the name you both want. Personally, I wouldn’t have so many L sounds, but I’m not a fan of the alliteration.

I prefer [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] on its own, but [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_m]Levy[/name_m] has a better flow to it.

I don’t think either work with that last name, sorry. [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] is the best of the two.
