Which little boy "O" do you like best?

I am not expecting yet :slight_smile: but I know at this point all my favorite boy names end in “o”. Thankfully, my husband is agreeable to most names I like. Please let me know what you think of these names and which is best. Our last name is two syllables and ends in a strong “e” sound. THANKS!
[name]Cosmo[/name]
[name]Roscoe[/name]
[name]Arlo[/name]
[name]Jethro[/name]
[name]Milo[/name]

[name]Roscoe[/name]

[name]Arlo[/name]! My husband had a friend named [name]Arlo[/name] in high school and I think that’s the coolest name.

hugo
otto
leo

are my fave ‘o’ names. xo

[name]Milo[/name]

[name]Cosmo[/name] is fantastic, but I think [name]Arlo[/name] just pips it to the post. There is also [name]Otto[/name] and [name]Hugo[/name].

[name]Auburn[/name]

[name]Milo[/name] and [name]Roscoe[/name]

[name]Milo[/name] with [name]Cosmo[/name] a close second

Of your names, I like [name]Jethro[/name]. Again, good associations.
I also like [name]Otto[/name].

I also like O names for girls: [name]Kiko[/name], Momo, [name]Coco[/name], [name]Dido[/name], [name]Juno[/name].

I don’t think you can really go wrong out of your choices, but my favourite is [name]Roscoe[/name] :slight_smile:

~[name]Elena[/name]

Thanks for your thoughts so far!
I just found out a friend named her little boy [name]Milo[/name]. I don’t see her much but it does make me worry alot more about the name’s popularity.
If possible could someone suggest middle names?
[name]Cosmo[/name]'s nn would be [name]Mo[/name] as a baby
[name]Jethro[/name] would be [name]Jet[/name]
[name]Arlo[/name], [name]Milo[/name] & [name]Roscoe[/name] probably wouldn’t be nn which is fine
I’m not majorly into nns
Thanks for suggesting [name]Hugo[/name] I might be starting to like it!

[name]Cosmo[/name] is fantastic, but I think [name]Arlo[/name] just pips it to the post. There is also [name]Otto[/name] and [name]Hugo[/name]. [name]Auburn[/name][/quote]

[name]Hi[/name] [name]Auburn[/name]! [name]Just[/name] to let you know, I literally had to look up the meaning of “pips it to the post” lol! I have never heard that expression before but I plan on somehow using it in a conversation today. :slight_smile: Thanks!

[name]Jethro[/name], [name]Leo[/name] & [name]Orion[/name] <3

[name]Cosmo[/name] - I really like [name]Fairy[/name] Oddparents, but the name [name]Cosmo[/name] will always be linked to that show for me.
Mind you, it’s not so bad for a little boy to have the name of a tv character(unless it’s something like Spongebob), for one the other children will think he’s cool, for another the show might not even be on anymore when the child becomes aware of his surroundings.
[name]Roscoe[/name] - I think I would like this better if you got rid of the e.
[name]Arlo[/name] - yep, nice name
[name]Jethro[/name] - [name]Jethro[/name] [name]Tull[/name]? his fellow classmates won’t make the connection, his teachers and other parents will.
[name]Milo[/name] - very nice, gaining popularity though, is it? might become a little too popular in the near future…

I think my favourite is [name]Arlo[/name] :3
will he have a second name?

Thanks for the heads up on [name]Cosmo[/name]! I very rarely watch tv so I’m not always aware of the connections to a name. It doesn’t really put me off [name]Cosmo[/name] (hopefully the character isn’t completely annoying??) I haven’t figured out middle names yet. If you have suggestions! I’m leaning toward [name]Arlo[/name] or [name]Cosmo[/name] or [name]Roscoe[/name] right now.

my grand daddy’s name!! [name]Roscoe[/name] <3 nn [name]Ross[/name] :wink:

[name]Oren[/name] is a cool O name too!

[name]Arlo[/name]. I like [name]Milo[/name], too, but think it’s becoming too trendy.

You know, I think a beautiful little human baby would outshadow a cartoon character pretty darn quick in anyone’s mind. ANd my best friend’s boy is [name]Jethro[/name] and not one thing about the shape of him or his name has ever made me think of [name]Jethro[/name] [name]Tull[/name]. He is just [name]Jethro[/name] the gorgeous little boy. Food for thought.

You asked for middle names. What about family names? Anything interesting to work with? Or favourite authors/artists etc.

I think a strong consonant (like a hard c) would be good with an ‘o’ ending. Like [name]Clancy[/name] or [name]Quincy[/name]. Having said that the [name]Jethro[/name] I know has [name]Elvis[/name] for a middle name!

Well, he is slightly annoying in a loveable way, but I agree with egantine: a real child can easily become the first thing you associate with something.
Example: My cousin is named Madita, like the girl in [name]Astrid[/name] Lindgren`s book. In next to no time the connections have adapted and now the first thing we think of when we hear the name Madita is the little girl :slight_smile:
[name]Arlo[/name] [name]Dylan[/name] -> popular
[name]Arlo[/name] [name]Joseph[/name] -> traditional
[name]Arlo[/name] [name]Constantine[/name] -> unusual
[name]Cosmo[/name] [name]Maximilian[/name] -> popular
[name]Cosmo[/name] Trinian -> unusual
[name]Cosmo[/name] [name]Raphael[/name] -> biblical
[name]Roscoe[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] -> traditional
[name]Roscoe[/name] [name]Bennett[/name] -> literary
[name]Roscoe[/name] [name]Allen[/name] -> I don’t know, just like the sound of it :smiley:

just throwing ideas around :slight_smile:
(mind your head, my aim is terrible)

I like [name]Milo[/name] the best.
