Which middle name for Gwendolyn? 💓

Ooh, I’m love your kids’ names and [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] is such a great addition. [name_f]In[/name_f] order from my favorite to least favorite, here’s what I think of the middle names:

  1. [name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] [name_f]Maude[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- I love this. [name_f]Maude[/name_f] is unexpected but charming. [name_m]The[/name_m] full name feels antique and floaty, like a heroine in a Regency romance. What really sets [name_f]Maude[/name_f] apart for me though is that all three middle names (Edward, [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], and Maude) would contain the letter d. It’s so subtle that you could easily drop it with a future child without anyone noticing, but I think it’s a cool little [name_f]Easter[/name_f] Egg.

  3. [name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- This one is a bit brighter and more youthful, almost cute. I like what @persephonescrown[name_f][/name_f] said about the double ys. [name_f][/name_f] It also looks the prettiest written out in my opinion.

  5. [name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- [name_m]The[/name_m] alliteration is fun and this full name is the most fun to say. It’s a bit more distinctive from the sibling names, but still has that classic panache.

  7. [name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] [name_f]Clare[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- I like [name_f]Clare[/name_f] a lot, especially with that streamlined spelling. It looks really nice. Sound wise, I think I like the others better. Something about the n at the end of [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] going into the Cl- sound of [name_f]Clare[/name_f] trips up my tongue and I don’t feel that it flows as nicely.

  8. [name_f][/name_f]
  9. [name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- I like the o in [name_f]Rose[/name_f] next to the o in [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f], it looks nice and balanced and it sounds pretty out loud. What holds me back is that compared to the others [name_f]Rose[/name_f] feels a bit more expected. It’s nice, but the other names have more unique points in their favour.
