I like both names equally, but I think it has a better flow with [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. I think a girl with the name [name_f]Athena[/name_f] would be very clever.
I know my mythology and associate [name_f]Athena[/name_f] with the godess of wisdom. So an [name_f]Athena[/name_f] to me is a picture of intelligence and independence.
I would go with [name_f]Athena[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] just because while [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is pretty and goes with everything, it’s become quite predictable and filler-like in the middle spot.
I also imagine an intelligent, beautiful, kind girl with dark hair and green or gray eyes (I knew an [name_f]Athena[/name_f]). I can also see her maybe being a bit reserved, but always happy and willing to help.
Though I love [name_f]Elise[/name_f], I have to go with [name_f]Rose[/name_f] on this one because I don’t like the assonance that [name_f]Athena[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] has with the A and E.
I think [name_f]Athena[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] has a much better flow than [name_f]Athena[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is so popular as a middle name, though, that I would recommend something less expected, such as [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] or [name_f]Lily[/name_f]. I picture someone named [name_f]Athena[/name_f] would be intelligent and would stand up for themself and others.
Actually, I’m going to second @stellarevolution’s suggestion of [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]. It’s a beautiful name that incorporates the sounds of both [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and (mostly) [name_f]Elise[/name_f].
