I’ve recently come into conflict between the two names [name]Mica[/name] (“MY-cuh”) and [name]Micah[/name] (with this spelling, I pronounce it “MEE-cuh”). I am in [name]LOVE[/name] with (and much rather perfer) [name]Mica[/name], but my boyfriend has voiced that he perfers [name]Micah[/name]. He said he also really likes [name]Mica[/name], but likes [name]Micah[/name] more.
Help, berries!
Which one do you perfer?
(Also, the middle names we’ve picked out for both names are: [name]James[/name] or [name]Joseph[/name]. Which one of these, with your favorite name, do you like?)
Thank you!
Definately [name]Micah[/name]! This is pronounced MY-cuh. I know a little girl and a little boy both with the name [name]Micah[/name] and they are pronounced MY-cuh. Great name!
I have never heard [name]Micah[/name] pronounced “MEE-cuh.” I’ve always heard it pronounced “MY-cuh.” Regardless, [name]Micah[/name] [name]Joseph[/name] is my favorite. [name]James[/name] in the middle spot comes across as filler and is incredibly overdone.
I love [name]Micah[/name]! It’s pronounced my-cuh, I have a small cousin with this name.
My understanding is that the mee-cuh pronounciation is the feminization, spelled [name]Mica[/name] or [name]Mika[/name]- but I may be wrong.
Ok, I’m glad I’m not the only one who perfer [name]Mica[/name]! Thank you very much, Berries!
(By the way, I forgot to mention this earlier, I also perfer [name]Joseph[/name] as it is in honor of my favorite uncle who has always been more of a goofy father-figure to me.)
I have [name]Micah[/name] on my list pronounced the same way as you, but I know a lot of people prefer [name]Micah[/name] pronounced My-cuh. I dislike the [name]Mica[/name] spelling because it looks incomplete.
I actually have [name]Micah[/name] [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Avery[/name] as my combo so I do adore [name]Micah[/name] [name]Joseph[/name], but [name]Micah[/name] [name]James[/name] is handsome too.
