Is [name_u]Devon[/name_u] a boy or a girl? [name_m]Just[/name_m] because I think of different names trying to match three brothers than I do to matching two boys and their sister, as [name_m]Philip[/name_m] strikes me as very classic next to the more modern-sounding [name_u]Devon[/name_u].
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Essjay, Sorry I should have stipulated that… [name_u]Devon[/name_u] is a boy, totally different style to [name_m]Philip[/name_m] I know, but they have always seemed to complement each other. Sibset of 3 boys. Thanks
I think [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] will complement the other names the best as it is stylistically close to [name_u]Devon[/name_u] yet classic like [name_m]Philip[/name_m] so it is the best compliment to both names.
However, what if you have another baby? Having to find a name to complement all 3 would be a little troublesome… so I am also leaning towards [name_m]Eli[/name_m] as it is different aesthetically but is a nice mix of being classic but still spunky sounding.
I also like [name_m]Leo[/name_m] as it is matchy with both names in the same way as [name_m]Oliver[/name_m].
I think [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] works the best with brothers [name_m]Philip[/name_m] and [name_u]Devon[/name_u]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] sound wise, [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] shares sound with both names without sounding too similar. Stylistically, I think [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] is the perfect mixture of modern and classic to balance out the competing styles of [name_m]Philip[/name_m] and [name_u]Devon[/name_u].
I like [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], too (for similar reasons as above).
I’m not sure names like [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] match stylistically.
I tried voting but couldn’t for some reason . I would have voted [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] and [name_m]Bennett[/name_m]. [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] is my first choice. Kind of combines a classic sound (classic to mirror [name_m]Philip[/name_m]) with a modern twist (to go with [name_u]Devon[/name_u])
Great to hear your comments. It’s so useful hearing others ideas & opinions. Please also feel free to add any other names you might feel fit? Im all over the place in terms of style but I always track back to these but wonder if there’s others I’m missing?
In which case, I think something like [name_u]Elliot[/name_u], [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] or [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] would be your best options - something that bridges classic and modern. [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] feel too classic next to [name_m]Philip[/name_m] and leave [name_u]Devon[/name_u] out, but I think they’d work well as middles - something like [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] would be gorgeous - if you haven’t settled on a middle already.
