First of what do you think of these two name options? [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f].
If I chose [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] I would want to known as [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] all the time. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think being called [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] all the time is to long to say? Also do you think people having to type or write [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] all the time is to much trouble for people?
As for [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] there are more nickname options such as [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] but spelt Lulou and [name_f]Lu[/name_f]/[name_u]Lou[/name_u]. I would also want to be called [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] from time to time as well as just [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] when spoken too out loud.
Another thing for [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] do you think the nickname [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] or Lulou is to young sounding for a grown woman?
What do you guys think would work best out of the two options above?
Thank you in advance.
I like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] better than [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]. I know people with double barrel fns who tell me that it is hard for forms, e-mail addresses, etc. but I would make that the determining factor-- people learn how to deal with this all the time (and there are other issues like having an apostrophe in your surname that cause similar issues).
So I go by my fn and mn in most places. My family almost exclusively calls me [name_f]Amber[/name_f] [name_f]Renee[/name_f], but I love having the option of just going by my first name if I want to. In some situations it helps avoid confusion that it’s not legally a double barrel name. At jobs I have the option of going by [name_f]Amber[/name_f] [name_f]Renee[/name_f] or just [name_f]Amber[/name_f] and when filling out paperwork at like the doctors office or whatever, not having the double barrel name makes filling out paperwork simpler ( at least for me). So I definitely think you could do [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and call her that whenever you want, cause like my Dad likes to say “I named you that because that’s what I wanted to call you and I love saying it”.
Of the two names I prefer [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], and I do think [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] is very childish and would not work on a child over like 10.
If the goal is to achieve [name_f]Lulu[/name_f], I do not think having two names thaf begin with the “[name_f]Lu[/name_f]” sound are necessary. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] suffices on its own. [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] is cute as nickname with friends and family and the right personality could probably pull it off full time.
I think [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is kind of nice, but I would probably use a hyphen to solidify its double barrel status. Both names are short enough to not make it seem like a mouthful that eventually gets abbreviated.
