My friends just found they’re having a little boy. I’m so excited for them! Their top names right now are [name_u]Jensen[/name_u] and [name_m]Ace[/name_m]. I personally love [name_u]Jensen[/name_u] and I think it fits their style the most (their top choice was [name_m]Jaxson[/name_m]/Jaxon but they couldn’t agree on a spelling). [name_u]Jensen[/name_u] also seems to be their top choice right now.
I think [name_m]Ace[/name_m] is a little too nicknamey, which the dad of the pair told me he agrees with. I was thinking [name_u]Jace[/name_u] might be a good alternative, especially since his brother is named [name_m]Jason[/name_m] and they’re very close. I’m worried that [name_u]Jace[/name_u] and [name_m]Jason[/name_m] might sound too similar though, so I wanted to get some other opinions before I pitched it.
So what do you think of [name_u]Jensen[/name_u]? And do you prefer [name_u]Jace[/name_u] to [name_m]Ace[/name_m], or is it too close to [name_m]Jason[/name_m]?
I really like [name_u]Jensen[/name_u], and it sounds like a great choice for them!
I like both [name_u]Jace[/name_u] and [name_m]Ace[/name_m]. I think [name_u]Jace[/name_u] would be a nice honor for a [name_m]Jason[/name_m], but I also think [name_u]Jensen[/name_u] could be an honor for [name_m]Jason[/name_m]. As to whether or not they’re too similar, I think it depends- do people ever called [name_m]Jason[/name_m] ‘[name_u]Jace[/name_u]’ as a nickname, or when they’re trying to get his attention? That might make it too close.
Jensen is really cute! I’m not a fan of [name_u]Jace[/name_u] but don’t think it’s too close to [name_m]Jason[/name_m]. Like [name_m]Ace[/name_m] but don’t like how it’s also short for “asexual”
They call him [name_u]Jay[/name_u] very rarely, but he’s mostly [name_m]Jason[/name_m]. And I agree [name_u]Jensen[/name_u] could definitely still be an honor for [name_m]Jason[/name_m]! It’s got similar length and sound but is still a unique name.
Oh true! I wonder if they’ve considered that. I know the [name_m]Ace[/name_m] was inspired by [name_m]Gilmore[/name_m] Girls but I doubt they realize the connotation. Something to consider!
Interesting, I hadn’t consider [name_u]Jensen[/name_u] too similar to [name_m]Jason[/name_m] but saying them out loud next to each I can hear the similarities. They live in different cities and there’s a good chance he’ll be Uncle [name_u]Jay[/name_u], as none of them tend to be call their name by their nieces and nephews (for example, my friend is Uncle [name_m]Chuckie[/name_m] even though the whole family calls him [name_m]Charles[/name_m]), so I’m not sure it’ll be enough of a concern to choose something else.
I think since [name_m]Jason[/name_m] is only his uncle, [name_u]Jace[/name_u] is fine! It’s actually my favourite of the three. [name_u]Jensen[/name_u] would be my second favourite.

To me, [name_u]Jensen[/name_u] is just a surname, I can’t see it as a given name. However, the sound is nice and if they like it then it seems like a good choice!
Ace is a cool name. I prefer it over [name_u]Jace[/name_u].
