Which name do you like better? Juliet Neave or Juliet Maeve?

I love both of these names, and I can’t choose between the two! [name]Juliet[/name] Neave (pronounced ‘Neeve’) or [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Maeve[/name] (pronounced ‘[name]Mave[/name]’)? Here’s a description of the girl who’d have it: Short, of average weight verging on skinny. Very pretty and cute. Funny and unique. Smart but not exactly geeky, more nerdy. Bubbly and kind-hearted. Pale with greyish green eyes. Loves music and writing. Would paint if she could. Sweet and a people pleaser, but will stand up for herself when pushed too far.
Which one fits better? What type of girl (physical characteristics and personality traits) would you imagine to be named [name]Juliet[/name] Neave or [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Maeve[/name]? Please do a description for both names:)

I’d choose [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Niamh[/name], if it were an option! But because its not and I hate the look of Neave I’ll go with [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Maeve[/name]

I like it spelled [name]Niamh[/name] better, but that is quite hard for most people not familiar with Gaelic names and this is obviously for a story, yes?

[name]Both[/name] are similar in sound. I think [name]Maeve[/name] would belong to a girl who is a little more mysterious just based on meaning. [name]Maeve[/name] means “she who intoxicates” so I would more-than-likely imagine a kind of coy/coquettish girl that has a lot of confidence about her rather than someone “sweet” as you describe your character.

So, [name]Niamh[/name] (or Neave/Neeve) would probably fit better. It means bright and kind of has a happier, more carefree tone.

A name-crush of mine is [name]Caoimhe[/name] (alternately [name]Keeva[/name] or [name]Kiva[/name]) which means beautiful, precious, gentle so that could fit well with the character as well!

Good luck  (I agree with the previous poster and would love to have the original Gaelic spellings used!)

i think [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Maeve[/name] flows better. I also like [name]Niamh[/name] or [name]Nieve[/name] better than Neave, but based on sound alone, it’s a great name!

I’m not sure, haha, I think both would fit the description you gave… and between [name]Juliet[/name] Neave and [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Maeve[/name], I am not sure I really see that much of a difference. I would find Neave a bit more approachable, and [name]Maeve[/name] a bit more regal. As they are, I like [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Maeve[/name] better, but if Neave was spelled [name]Niamh[/name], [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Niamh[/name] would totally get my vote, I love that! I even like [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Neve[/name] better than [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Maeve[/name], although I do really love both. Can I ask why Neave over the Gaelic [name]Niamh[/name] or the more phonetic [name]Neve[/name]? I think those look so much classier than Neave, personally.

Honestly, I don’t think you could go wrong with [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Niamh[/name] or [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Maeve[/name]! I really love them both.

Good luck!

I hadn’t decided on a spelling yet for Neave haha. I never saw it spelled as [name]Niamh[/name] before- I really like that spelling. So I guess it’s [name]Niamh[/name] verses [name]Maeve[/name] now:)

I imagine her as a [name]Juliet[/name] Neave, although I prefer the [name]Neve[/name] spelling- I think it’s just more elegant. I think [name]Neve[/name] is sweeter and more approachable. [name]Maeve[/name] seems like a name that fits a fiery, strong-willed person.
