Hello! I am not pregnant yet but thinking ahead. I have two kids named Le0 and M@rg0t and wondering which girl name from our top 3 fits the sibset best (no, we do not plan on sticking to the O ending theme!)
Which do you like between [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], or [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]? [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] are literally one spot difference in popularity in my state so that shouldn’t really factor into it regarding those two. We are leaning more towards either [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] or [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], but [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] is still in consideration.
Edit to add that my husband is really pushing for Evangeline, too, but I’m worried it’s too long compared to our other two names? What do you guys think?
I do really like it in full but HATE the nickname [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]. I have a very bad association with the name from my childhood and am just not sure it’s possible to avoid that as a nickname.
I adore [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]. It is on my short list. My [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] would be [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]. If someone did try to shorten it I would correct them.
[name_u]Eloise[/name_u] for sure! I was gonna suggest Lo as a nn but I took another look at your post. [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] is already beautiful in its own.
Looks like [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] is the clear winner so far! [name_m]Reading[/name_m] your siggy reminded me of how much I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the name [name_f]Amelie[/name_f]! Worry it would get butchered here in the US but it is beautiful.
[name_m]How[/name_m] does [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] sound with the sibset?
[name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] is gorgeous. I do really like [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] in the sibset, too. Both amazing pairs.
I love [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]! It’s one of my favorites! That said, I think any of the three would go well with her siblings: all three names actually [name_f]DO[/name_f] have a strong ‘o’ sound in them that ties them in with the older two. [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] wouldn’t, but still sounds alright with her siblings. It actually has as many syllables as [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], so I’m not sure if length is really a consideration here. [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] has as many nicknames as [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] too, which is a bonus in my book (i.e. [name_f]Vangie[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_f]Lina[/name_f], [name_u]Laney[/name_u], [name_u]Angel[/name_u], etc versus [name_u]Penny[/name_u], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], [name_f]Nell[/name_f], etc).
Well [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] are the same number of syllables, so I don’t think it’s too long. However I think [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] fits with your sibset better than either of those. L. and M. are both very spare and strong, [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] is a little more elaborate while [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] is even more so. I like that [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] has a similar tailored feel and shares the strong o sound with the other siblings’ names. Le0, M@rgot, and [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] sound like kids in a children’s book! I like [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] too and it also has a strong o sound, but [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] is my preference.
That is true, they are! I guess [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] just sounds like it’s shorter and rolls off the tongue a bit more than [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f].
Seems like the two winners so far are [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_u]Eloise[/name_u].
I love [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] with your kids. [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] would be my second pick but it feels so much longer than your kids names. I think [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] is the wrong style, it feels too dated and trendy at the same time, maybe it’s the Kardashian effect.
[name_u]Eloise[/name_u] is the best fit - you could use [name_u]Lou[/name_u] or [name_f]Lu[/name_f] or [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] or Louey as a nn and avoid the [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] you dislike.
