we are expecting our 2nd beautiful baby in [name]March[/name] , so don’t know gender yet, of course… I posted in Girl’s forum and now am curious about a boy name, too. which do you like best of our short list?
I really like [name]Matthew[/name], it’s not used a lot these days but a classic and sounds really cute on a boy, especially nn [name]Mattie[/name]. Prefer [name]David[/name] to [name]Davis[/name], know far too many people with it as a surname for me to see it as a first name, and prefer [name]Jack[/name] to [name]Jackson[/name]. [name]Miles[/name] and [name]Noah[/name] are ok but not all that fond of them.
Well I like all these names so it’s a but tough, but I would have to say I like them in this order
[name]Miles[/name]
[name]Noah[/name]
[name]Matthew[/name]
[name]Jackson[/name]
[name]Davis[/name]
[name]Miles[/name]
[name]Davis[/name] (love this spin on the classic [name]David[/name])
[name]Matthew[/name]
[name]Noah[/name] (I like [name]Noah[/name] but prefer [name]Jonah[/name])
[name]Jackson[/name] (I prefer [name]Jack[/name] and that is why I rated this last as I know too many Jacksons right now)
[name]Matthew[/name]- I like [name]Matthew[/name], it’s simple and classic. My brother is also named [name]Mathew[/name] but with one t.
[name]Noah[/name]- I like this name, but I don’t love it. It’s gained a lot of popularity recently, but I can’t imagine an adult named [name]Noah[/name].
[name]Miles[/name]- I like [name]Miles[/name], I don’t know why, I think it flows well when you say it. But again I don’t love it.
[name]Davis[/name]- [name]Davies[/name] is a popular surname where I live, so I find it odd as a FN.
[name]Jackson[/name]- I find it too American, living in the UK. NMS at all but I like [name]Jack[/name].
I like [name]Matthew[/name] and [name]Noah[/name] best. I’ve never been a fan of [name]Miles[/name] or [name]Davis[/name], and [name]Jackson[/name] annoys me for some reason.
[name]Matthew[/name] is a lovely classic name, but a wee bit common. Perhaps my favorite on your list. Can’t go wrong with a classic.
[name]Miles[/name] is more trendy but not overused. A good choice.
[name]Davis[/name] I feel neutral about.
[name]Noah[/name] is too biblical for my taste
[name]Jackson[/name] feels VERY trendy to me.
Oh man, I like them all except [name]Davis[/name]. From favorite to least favorite:
[name]Miles[/name]- love it. There’s nothing I dislike about this. It would be cute on a little boy, “cool” on a teenager, and sophisticated on an adult. [name]Win[/name]/win imo
[name]Jackson[/name]- You can’t go wrong with [name]Jackson[/name]. [name]Jack[/name], or Jacks as a nn just evokes images of a well liked male to me. It’s a name that never feels too common, even if it is popular.
[name]Noah[/name]- Like it a lot.
[name]Matthew[/name]- I like it. I grew up with a lot of [name]Matt[/name]'s, [name]Matty[/name]'s and [name]Matthew[/name]'s though. It’s a wonderful name, but it sounds almost dated to me. I could be wrong, because as I said I do like it.
[name]Davis[/name]- I don’t care for it, just nms. I like some last names as first names, but [name]Davis[/name] doesn’t work for me.
